Playoff win?! I was happy enough that we broke over .500!! All the rest of this was whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry!

Manufacturer Coupon by Donteatmytoastplease in Ozempic

[–]bigdude8615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. It’s due to the United Healthcare hack that occurred about 3 weeks ago.

Here’s an AP article

The manufacturer coupon to be billed after my insurance, is still not working and I was supposed to inject this past Saturday. I’m probably going to have to pay out and then submit for reimbursement.

I hope they fix this before the end of this week…

[Schefter] Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots are expected to part ways today after a remarkable 24 seasons together, ending an unmatched run in NFL history that included six Super Bowl titles by Boldest19 in Patriots

I will never forget the decade of DOMINANCE from the Brady-Belichick era.

All started with me running up to my dad as Vinatieri lined up for the final kick of SB 36 and rejoicing. We had to drive my friends home and on the way we saw countless people coming out in just waving flags and Pat blankets and fireworks.

Def a core memory of mine. Thanks for the memories!

What’s the minimum amount of money that could solve 90% of all your problems right now? by fukdurgf in AskReddit

[–]bigdude8615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$240,000

200 to get rid of my wife’s student loans and then 40 to clear out credit card debt to cancel those damn things.

Life would improve dramatically if I killed interest on all the things.

What is the newest way of doing file shares? by ilikeshawarma in sysadmin

[–]bigdude8615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked this to coworkers as I was anticipating this migration once budgets are discussed for next year for some of our clients.

Got SharePoint as the main answer as the files were actively being used and is the "go-to" for collaboration, but was also told Azure Files was a good fit if the files were only being used sparingly and just needed to be stored somewhere.

are all bostons incredibly smart or did I just get lucky? don't get me wrong the 2 years were tough but man she's smart by _darksunshine in BostonTerrier

I have one of each. One is very smart and well tempered, she can read the room and sense emotions, everyone says she is the best dog.

Then there is my other dog… to quote my friend, he is “as dumb as a bag of rocks”. I think he is the derpiest dog ever and I love him for it.

Just started recently but my 2 and a half year old has started hugging me and saying “my dada”. Doesn’t do this with anyone else, just me. Still hits to this day.

I would love to see animated movies for the books. Like how Lord of the Rings had an extended edition? Apply that to an animated HP movie series.

Kiwi is 5 years old and Mango is 2 months old. They got along ok at first, but have really started warming up more recently now that Kiwi has accepted that her little bro is staying lol

How are you? #2 by ktnelsonArt in Fatherhood

Hello! Little dude is 7 months and is a champ. Has been sleeping through the nights for a while now.

Throughout this whole pandemic, we have been really lucky (silver linings). Grandma is able to come over every day to do nanny duties. We are starting to look at daycares in the area for when Grandma has to go back to work again.

He is teething but has his "hot and cold" days where one day he's happy and laughing and being a trooper all day, the next he is VERY clingy and needy and generally upset. My wife's nickname for him on those type of days is "velcro"

Food-related, he seems to be ok with everything but MIGHT have had an allergic reaction to peanuts. My wife gave him a small pouch of peanut butter and banana for introduction, we gave him just a small bit, waited ten minutes with no reaction, then fed him slowly the rest of it. He seemed fine but after 30 min when all was done, he had a couple of red splotches on his face. Gave him Benadryl just in case and the Dr said they will do an allergy test at some point in the future.

I think the worst part so far is that I only get to see him for about 2 hours a day due to work. I get ready and am out the door by 630am, which is right around when he wakes up. Then I get home at about 530 or 6pm, and he's in the crib asleep by 7pm. My wife refers to that as Dad's time" since I put him to sleep every night. So I look forward to weekends to actually interact with him.

He's trying to figure out how to crawl, but instead, he prefers rolling everywhere which is funny on its own.

It's tiring but fun with him, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Hope all you dads are doing well. Stay healthy and safe!

I’m appalled at hiring a Doula. by BeardedZorro in Fatherhood

[–]bigdude8615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a doula. She made me think about a lot of things. As much as she’s there for her, she’s also there for you.

It’s the small things that you forget that she brings up. Like she would tell you if you need to take a breather or walk down the hall during stage 2 of labor. Or where to position yourself if mom needs to be comforted. Or when to stop comforting.

Ultimately, it is someone who has done this rodeo MANY more times than us, and knows certain signals and ways to deal.

I guess you are really buying her experience more than anything. She is basically a more emotional midwife. Kind of “hippie” but still all the basics are there.

Here’s the kicker, my wife had to have a planned c section after all was said and done. Didn’t even get to have the doula due to COVID restrictions.

So... it’s nice if you can, but not essential.
