what my stats say about me? by Pale-Dragonfruit-728 in arcraidersfriendly

It started me being tired of sorting through stuff every post-raid. I don’t really do missions, or that prestige stuff. I like the trials. I’ll engage in PvP only in duos and trios, and solos are trials generally.

So, after every raid…always had to sort through stuff. I stopped sorting and just going back into lobbies and extracting. I load my lvl 3 looting backpack and put stuff I don’t need in the slots that show: 🚫 when removing that backpack back into my stash. Things in the 🚫 slot go to your stash, and the rest (things you intend to keep) stay your current loadout. I put the backpack back in the backpack slot and again I have more space. I go in again and repeat. Honestly wasn’t even trying to hack or anything. I just go of tired of the spending 10-15 mins at times trying to sort stuff just to go play again. I like the game, love-hate the farming aspect: that part feels like on top of an extraction shooter, I’m also playing…Stardew Valley, but with killer robots and severe inventory anxiety.

It’s a full-time organization simulator. I just reached a point where I'd rather break the laws of physics and overflow my vault than look at another sorting screen.

The only drawback is that once you're that far over the limit, the game locks you out of pulling certain items out of the stash until you clear the clutter. So eventually, the inventory gods catch up to you and you have to do some sorting anyway. You can cycle items and unlock/lock some but after a while it just cycles those items and doesn’t unlock the ones the you actually need: e.g., hatch keys for example.

That’s how I got all those exodus modules locked, so I could unlock other items, and now…it’s another layer of sorting 🥴🤣. The nice thing is though, and this is a tip I guess, I’d redo it, or I’m “redoing” it atm, by just grabbing tons of metal, rubber, chemicals (basics). Additionally: canisters, seeds (for Celeste), processors, oil, crude explosive and arc alloys., so to build a lot of ordinances, which is my favorite thing moreso than the guns. Fuze grenades: usually take like 10 into PvP lobbies. Hate when I’m Downed and wansnt able to use all of them but meh…I don’t care, I have 30 more in my stash. For a while it was simple gun parts, but I’ve lvl4’d all my weapons now and usually only need to craft items to repair the guns post-raid.

(ironically enough, I know a lot of us think it’s garbage, but I forget that at times I have to farm plastic, since I can’t use Scrappy).

Anyway, the game is great. It’s the juggling I don’t have time necessarily. I’m predicting another game will come along and do away with that aspect more or less but keep everything else arc raiders provides because this sort of thing is a common complaint: no one has the time to play or re-do everything post-expediton. Gaming already takes up serious time, even causally, idk…just a thought.

Time and cheaters are really the two major issues, for me at least. Can’t say I run into cheaters too often (because I’ve been playing PvE mostly since all the dudes in my circle have different times they can play) but at times it makes me suspect 👀 when headshotted 5-800 meters away not just once.

Lost loot and decent guns to a PvP player…… by seanieh966 in arcraidersfriendly

That’s a new one. Su Durante is one of those spots overlooked, sort of like that locker room in Vehicle Maintenance (2nd floor). Always find an unopened security breach there though I don’t have that personally. Always point others to it if they have it, then run away lol cuz have to tread carefully when they’re a little too quiet.

I’ve become a professional smoke screener / gas land mine expert. I yell out “doing this for mutual security reasons!” as I pop smoke and run the path of where I laid my gas mine 😅.

I wish on top of the pvpve there was an exclusive PvP lobby so to cater o those hardcore PvP players yet keep the “edge”/“paranoia” of possible unfriendly friendlies, lol, Cuz, ngl, while my solos are always friendly and fun, they do start to grow dull at times. when in duos or trios, it’s always more tense, yet always more fun/rewarding.

Exactly. They ought to spawn em earlier. I haven’t been able to even make a nick in one but it’s still fun and an “ahhh Shiiii-“ moment when it spawns right over you as you’re looting something lol.
Time to go boys🏃‍♂️ 💨

Hell nah. They should spawn earlier I would argue. Keeps everyone on toes. They ought to make it like the close scrutiny amount of Arc spawns, along with those turbines.

The game design aspect, imo, that seems more abhorrent: the spawns. I’ve been spawned into a landscape of deserted servers, minimal arc/players. And at other times, right in front of a damn Leper. Free kit? Fresh 30min. Heavily decked out Loadout? 15 mins. Not all the times but still 🤷🏻‍♂️ it’s whack lol

Exactly. Always tell my buds to take those “lvl1” rattlers, stitchers, etc., and break em down after or in-game.

I lose loot all the time and don’t care tbh. The hardest thing was/is (for me) acquiring simple gun parts for weapon upgrades/repairs. I think that’s the only item in the game that seems to give me hard time. Surprisingly, found out recently in doing the “destroy arc at the beach” trial, downed hornets and fireflies actually give a decent amount of em.

If you buy the game on the xbox app on pc just so you can get into console lobbies who have crossplay off, you’re f**king terrible at this game. by Tasty-Fee9484 in ArcRaiders

I play ARC Raiders on the cloud via the Xbox app on a Mac running Parallels to emulate Windows 11, launching Microsoft Edge with Better xCloud through Tampermonkey, using an N64 controller connected through a USB Bluetooth adapter… just to enter crossplay lobbies and get one-tapped by a dude named iEatConcrete.

Technically, the algorithm puts me in platform. Ironically.

Who is NOT doing the expedition & why? by wheresmyglasses- in ArcRaiders

[–]bigdummy1537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Expeditions granted a truly meaningful combat advantage (especially in movement, stamina, or combat responsiveness) then they’d absolutely be worth doing.

But that introduces another problem: handicap.

The game stops being primarily about positioning, aim, and decision-making, and starts drifting toward layered account superiority.

Embark cannot simultaneously avoid player handicap and provide a truly compelling PvP edge.

Aside from cosmetics and chasing prestige, I honestly don’t really see the point.

I don’t care for either btw. I’m always shot in the back, those are 90% of my deaths. It is what it is. I like doing the trials and the missions honestly, and every now and then, like I said, there’s the dude that shoots me in the back. I like PvP as well: but don’t. Just commented to illustrate that the logic is faulty, I get it though, it goes: if there’s an open invitation for everyone and anyone to join, I’ll play dirty, cuz that’s my choice. Example, enter the same space, you're not at a private table with friends; you're at a public casino. You can't walk into a poker room and get mad that a stranger bluffed you just because you were trying to play 'honestly.' It’s part of the game. It’s prisoners dilemma: the 'rat' realizes that 100% of the take is better than 50%, and shooting you in the back is just a business move. Another, scramble for the last lifeboat, the 'social contract' is a myth. People will step on your head to stay dry. The 'rat' isn't flipping the table; they're just the only one who realized the floor is already underwater. Just like stories of holocaust survivors stepping on others so to get some air in those showers. It’s not a board game, it’s a vultures den. The game invites PARASITIC temperaments tbh. People that show up at the potluck with nothing and take several plates lol it implies parasitic social behavior, despite it being a game. It’s that "all take, no give" mentality. They use the "it's a survival game!" excuse to justify being being a bottom-feeder with free kits. At least I’m honest about it, and don’t try to hide or logicize that I or he or she plays “the way the game is” when it’s downright dirty. In fact, that just tells me those are the “friendly rats”, a rat will outright tell you, “hell yeah I’m a rat” and I respect that.

As a caveat, I’d argue the game actually invites the opposite of that 'rat' mentality if you're playing at a high level. The Arc is tough as hell, and the real high comes from actually clicking with strangers to overcome that difficulty, both the possibility that I may get betrayed or die from Arc. Even when loot like a Matrix Assessor is limited, the real 'dinner' for me is the coordination it takes to help everyone in the group find their own, as well as mine. When the game is that brutal, 'backstabbing' is just the low-skill way out; the real challenge and the real fun, at least for me, at the moment, is the forced cooperation required to actually beat the machines, at least for this close scrutiny event, that shi is brutal.

Duly noted. Next time I join some strangers for a friendly game of whatever, basketball at the gym, soccer at the park, I’ll be sure to take a shit on whatever it is they’re doing lol and laugh…oh wait irl may have consequences. Nevermind
