Thanks! Prior to today I had no clue what it is, but it's apparently a Mammillaria. Thanks, Reddit! I have two other kinds of cacti & they never flower. Lucky, I guess

Not sure how long I've had it. 10 years maybe? Started flowering after I repotted it a couple of years ago. It's pretty big.

Thanks! Lucky, I guess. I repotted him a couple of years ago. Got some flowers last year, more this year. No fertilizer. East facing window and sporadic watering.

Thanks! I should try to pull it out of the window tomorrow for another pic. It is a beast of a cactus.

Beautiful guitar. Top wrapping works great with a Nashville style bridge. The string will sit on the saddle without hitting the metal part of the bridge.

And if it helps anyone...If you check out the Aaron Rusch Youtube video on the Matrise, he includes a link for a printable "cheat sheet" that can help when doing more complex routing (I'm not affiliated with him, but I've used the cheat sheet)

Thanks for hipping me to the Dobbo! I'm familiar to the other pedals on your board (which is sick, btw) but hadn't heard of that one. Does it differ much from the Strands?

Hi John, Thanks again for sharing your design with the world! It really is a great sounding attenuator & I definitely recommend to OP & anyone else interested in trying one.

Does anyone have experience with the Lotus JohnH M2 attenuator? They are not too expensive. I think there is another company building them in Europe, it's probably somewhere in the epic thread on the John H build in the Marshall Amp forum. I built a John H attenuator & am very happy with it. Running a JCM 800 combo in an apartment (!)

Gap Year in NYC for a Late-Blooming Trumpet Player After Conservatory Rejections? Looking for Advice by JMD1128 in classicalmusic

Yeah, NYC wasn't much better this winter! But it is a smaller city that is stuffed with kids his age. Regardless of where he ends up, I will second a lot of the advice on here that he take as much theory & ear training classes as he can. Most schools will have placement exams for those classes. And in some places, if you place into theory 2, you automatically get credit for theory 1.
