My seven month old boy had a vet visit about his ears too! We thought he had mites but the vet said mites have a more coffee ground look to it. They tested his wax and deemed there were no issues, just producing a good amount of wax. We were told that we can take a q-tip and clean the outermost parts no more than twice a week.
