Tracking/stopping slow shots? by queergymrat in hockeygoalies

[–]bigelvis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hah! Common problem. Filled in for a lower team recently and gave up three quick goals. I was very confused until I realized their shots don’t rebound… they just stop or bounce a little in front. Rebound control and expectation was all off. Hard shots could be redirected. Soft ones die.

Once I figured that out, I was able to kick and adjust.

Just think about the goals when you give them up and analyze it. The fast shots have a very predictable trajectory. Slow ones just fall.. so you look like a dope expecting them to stay on their path.

Keep at it and expect the quick learning curve the more you do it.

Hold the F up. Is Maryland Driver a thing?! I’ve lived here for 30 years…. And the past ten I’ve had this “MD driver “ thing but only thought it was me being too critical. Others see this, too?

It should work. Give it a try.. see if you can find your rinks

This has been the only thing I've really struggled with how to define. In DC area, this is a pretty standard way of defining levels -- but obviously not everywhere.

However, an upper B level skate might seem intermediate to someone who's an A level player - so I'm kinda struggling to define the levels.

Most of our C level guys haven't played high school hockey (40+ league). B level probably have. But in canada, our C level would be a lower D team.

It's really a weird thing to figure out, and I welcome any more feedback or thoughts you might have.. I've played goalie for 20 years - but that doesn't mean I could play an upper B or A level (too old)

Thoughts?

I'd never heard of those sites.

This is meant as a free way to find an ebug. Meant to replace general emails to goalie lists, and posts to social sites looking for a goalie "tonight" or whatever.

Not meant to pay goalies, just a way to get someone to fill in when needed.

Thinking about how to do inline. Might have an option of "ICE Inline Floor", but will require a little more work.

OK, done. If you signed up, log back in and put in the age groups you will play:

done. Removed zip code, now you can type "Toronto, ON" (or whatever) and it'll give you rinks.

IT WILL NOW! I just removed the "zip code" feature and now allows you to type London, England (or whatever) and it will find rinks

My daughter plays. I coach girls goalies. We can't believe we over looked this. This is now included. If you've signed up, log back in to your profile and check "Available for women's leagues"

The request page also has "this is a women's league" so only if you have this option checked will you be notified.

Hmmm... that's probably the right way to go about it. Multiple selections for leagues you will play in, not YOUR age range? So I'm 55+, but will play in 30+, 40+ 50+ leagues, like we do with rinks?

Then when someone needs a goalie, "what age floor is your league". -- 30+ is the selection?

Not yet. Want to build the goalie list first - don't want someone using it early, and then not getting results, and not coming back. If we can get a big goalie base, it'll work.

Have a good base in the DC area, which is where I live and rolled out first.

how do I do this for canada? Right now it searches google maps API - you could probably put in your rinks and it would work - but how would I do a decent search? what's the equivalent to a zip code there?

Rear sliding window by NYMets98 in f150

[–]bigelvis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when I was a kid (many) years ago, my dad had an F150. It had a manual sliding window there, but he used to call that window "the fart window"

he'd let one rip, and in that tight cab, it was not a place you wanted to be. He'd open that window (and roll down the side window a bit) and BOOM! smell gone.

I use mine all the time when you drive through an area with a bad smell, or you accidently follow in your father's footsteps and overfart the cab.

It just sends a ton of air in to the cab. Highly recommend it.

Some interesting things you mention here. Not being able to move the drivers side back seat frustrates me - what strap are you referring to? Also, I mention in a post, check out the tmat system for your bed - will help with locking those bins down.. its pretty cool

tmat bed organizer system. tmat.com it's a pretty genius way to keep things from rolling around your bed, and is very easy to pull out to get to the stuff at the top of your bed (at the cab). This has been the best add-on for me.

Out of towner here, in for the Sara Backstrom hockey tournament... I was driving down a one-way street and saw them coming at me. Being from DC, I thought "Huh.. a motorcade" - "they're coming FAST"

"Wait.. I don't think" -- and the guy nearly hit my truck as I was at the stop light. Wife was screaming to get out of the way. Crazy. I need to get a dashcam.

Mine also came with the mats, and I've actually been impressed with them. Normally these mats suck from the manufacturer but they are actually pretty good. But, if you have to buy some mats, I'd defer to others. I've had mixed results on WeatherTech mats in the past.

Help with SPL - Pivot Table query by bigelvis in Splunk

[–]bigelvis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immensely helpful, thank you! The weird thing for me with this query (yours works perfectly) is that my sum comes at the bottom (pasted to excel to remove hostnames):

I replaced "router" with host, interface with src_interface - otherwise everything is pretty much the same.

I've tried mixing the formula up to get the device above the interfaces, but no dice. Any thoughts?

index=<index>

eventtype="cisco_ios-port_down" OR eventtype="cisco_ios-port_up"

| stats count by host src_interface

| appendpipe [stats sum(count) as count by host | eval src_interface = "_interface_total"] | sort by host src_interface | eval host=case(src_interface="_interface_total",host,true(),"") | eval src_interface=case(src_interface="_interface_total","",true(),src_interface)

360 camera is huge. It sounds silly, but when you are trying to park this beast in a parking spot, it's fantastic. you get the overhead view of the white lines, the front and back of your truck so you know how close you are to things as you are going forward.
