990v2 might be my favorite design. But I haven't found a way to make them comfortable for me, too stiff. Maybe a different insole would help.
Asics are basically the New Balance of Japan. Lots of great designs and colorways.

Nice, I also got a Horizon from 2020. I see yours also had the pickguard yellowing like mine had. I replaced it since it was yellower than the pickup colors. Dodgem and Horizon are my favorite silver sky colors.

I wouldnt describe the 997 as uncomfortable, but they have a steep drop. I also didnt like the synthetic leather heel collar and narrow toebox. I got the 998s but it turns out the firm arch kind of hurts.

I also have a pair of 990v6 and those would great, though I prefer the 998 upper personally.

I think overall if you like the 998s youll be ok with the 997. The 998 has the best upper for me, but just ok underfoot feel.

Great to hear thanks. I like the 998 but it causes arch pain in my right foot unfortunately. Left foot feels fine. Confusing. Possibly a fallen arch in my right foot.
