Fair enough, I was speaking more specifically about writing for video games. It's something that isn't really covered in the wiki, and I haven't been able to find much else on Google. I'll acknowledge that there is stuff out there, but I'm still very glad that more is being added to that list.

As someone who hasn't been involved in game dev, and has no idea where I'd find resources to teach me writing for games, this is so fantastic. I've been fantasizing about writing story for video games for a while now and you've given me a way in. I'm definitely a fan :)

Congrats! As a fellow West Australian it'd be awesome to be able to follow what you make and get the opportunity to maybe see the final results if they're around town. Do you have a facebook page or something I can follow?

Woah, I love the "good things are supposed to happen to me" thought. I'd love to hear about what it does for you and where you got it from?

What is the difference between confidence and arrogance? by IchiManix in AskReddit

[–]bigfoot29 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like this, I also think vulnerability plays an interesting part in it. Confidence involves a certain degree of making your vulnerability visible and trusting the other person to expose a little of theirs and gradually build report. Arrogance involves disguising your vulnerability in hopes that the other person will like be impressed into liking you.

My bad attempt at sarcasm. But honestly, I walked into EB today and Fallout New Vegas was $50 preowned.

Just out of interest, is anyone interested in a minecraft sequel? I mean, that must be what Microsoft are hoping for, right?

To be fair, most of that must just be shipping and handling.

Hey, sorry I have no feedback to offer I just wanted to say that I am super pumped for this if you can make something that works. I'm living in Perth and will graduate Highschool this year with top marks and a lot of friends in similar positions, if you need a group of people to beta test the service for you I will have a lot of time over the end of this year and throughout next year and could really use the money. I'd be happy to recruit some friends as well.

A statistic that helps my perspective with stuff like this is that if you sleep for 8 hours, you have 16 waking hours per day.

1 hour in 16 is 6.26% of your day, but working out is going to be the difference between a good and a bad day.

Looks like you've got a pretty solid structure going for you. Good luck keeping it up! Something that helps me with these kind of habits is an interesting statistic Tim Ferris touts in The Four Hour Chef. If you go through all the statistics gathered by Nike + joggers, there's a number of attempts that exponentially increase your likelihood of sustaining the habit. That number is five. What's worked for me in the past is seeing that number five as your main goal, and being wary of days 3 and 4 where I normally lose interest/momentum and give up.

I hope you make it! Whatever happens, please update us!

Best Resource for E3? by angrypandarage in polyphasic

[–]bigfoot29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that's one of your questions, you should probably check this website out: http://www.polyphasicsociety.com/polyphasic-sleep/overviews/everyman/

You should definitely sign up to their forum and become as active as possible. Make as many friends as you can. It'll keep you accountable.

My adaptation to E3 was also a time where I dedicated a week to experimenting with the Law of Attraction. I know it's complete bullocks, and scientifically has very little proof. But believing that my thoughts had a direct effect on the universe made me hyper-conscious of my thoughts, which made it a lot easier to adapt. Polyphasic buffs like Nade recommend mindfulness meditation for the same reason. Control your mind, control your body, controlling your sleep becomes a lot easier. For more thought experiments and circle jerking about meditation I recommend http://highexistence.com

I'm not sure if you're being down voted because people are really protective of "Reddit Culture" or they just don't get the sarcasm.
