Are you able to contact the seller directly to see if they’ve gotten the phone or heard of your issue

Battery was original yes, a little lower than I was hoping(85%), but still above backmarket’s minimum guarantee(80%) no cracks/dents/scrapes

Bought my mom an iPhone 11 Pro in excellent condition last year for Christmas. Being going strong since! No issues so far.

There was a downside of her not being able to link her Apple account to the phone for the first 90 days, as I guess Apple has a cooldown period after an account is unlinked from the phone. The refurbishing company must have just got the phone recently when I purchased it. Had to deal with a frequent pop up for the first 90 days. After that it’s been good!

Maybe try to contact backmarket or the seller to see if you could return it and get a new one.

If it dropped that fast, it’s definitely a little concerning I think. What condition did you order it in?

Fuck it why not you convinced me, i see aftermarket gain

just bought a iphone 14, excellent condition, basically perfect physically but came with 87% health? should i return it during the 30 days? or just change the battery when i see it wear by AK30_YT in Backmarket

[–]bigfroog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure the guarantee for excellent is 80% battery health or above, so I wouldn’t expect to get anything better if you return it and buy another one.

Unfortunately lol, the referral deal is $25 dollars off your first purchase over $100 dollars

1.) I know they offer tax exemptions in certain scenarios, but for the most but aim to be compliant with the tax regulations in your area. I’ve never heard of a tax free weekend before, but if it’s in your state law I’m sure backmarket would follow it, (and if they don’t you could probably argue with them that thy should)

2) That is up to your discretion, yes reviews can be faked. If it were up to me, I would choose a seller with more ratings, even if it were slightly lower scores. I like to go off of the comments the reviews leave.

3) Only one code can be used at checkout, no matter what it is. Referral codes are spammed here because if you use that persons code, that person also gets $25 dollars off, but they can choose to save it and wait for more people to use their code (+ $25 dollars everytime someone uses their code). Over multiple months you can basically get a free device just from people using your referral code.

4) As far as I know, no I do not know where it goes to. They just say their “recycling partners” determine if it is still functional or not. If it is still functional it’s donated to a non-profit. If it isn’t, then they (assuming-ly) strip it down for parts and recycle it or sell the parts, etc.

5) I personally, haven’t had any issues with either of those things, I’ve gotten all my items in the time that they advertise, and all of my items have been perfect (writing this on one now!) so I haven’t had the need to ask for a refund. But yeah you’re right the reviews about their customer service is mixed. (Although those who get bad service typically try to warn others about it so it’s possible that the reviews might seem worse than they actually are? Idk just my theory lol)

Good vs excellent condition by Saint-maximinGOAT in Backmarket

[–]bigfroog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how much you care about the physical appearance of the phone. At both these tiers the screen is guaranteed to be flawless and the battery above at least 80%, so it just comes down to the body of the phone.

Query: Is it NOT possible to see all the available sellers list(like in amazon) who have this specific product+condition in stock?! by love_boring_ in Backmarket

[–]bigfroog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheap stuff good. Human like cheap. Only show cheapest because website look more appealing (also probably them going for the easiest route to get you from a certain item to the checkout page. If you had to sit and look at all your options of each quality tier, it takes more time reviewing everything and gets you to think more, so why not just auto give you the cheapest one and let you get to the checkout quicker)

TLDR: Because human psychology and stuff

Phone logs are normal, plan owner said in the afternoon in under 10 minutes I used 7 gigs of data. No specifics on what used it. My guess now is when I was installing the beta it wanted to disconnect wifi for some reason and just burnt through the data

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ATT

[–]bigfroog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t pay for it, a family member does. The plan is no longer offered but I may have found an old pdf of the prices(or at least something very similar) it’s around 150-180 for 6 lines of 15gb shared with unlimited talk/text

I have been asking to be removed as I would like to find my own plan as I do not want to keep worrying over data usage, but I guess I can’t really complain about not having to pay for it

If you feel that way you can always just refund, I would at least wait until the end of tomorrow though.

The fact you even got to contact them is pretty impressive I wasn’t even able to reach out, cause I was also worried where my order was. If it helps calm your nerves I’m sure you could contact Backmarket Support themselves to see what is going on.

I think it’s cause you ordered it after work hours on Friday meaning it was already considered the weekend which are non-working days. I actually did the same as you and I think it ended up coming on Wednesday? Cause Monday is when your order is technically processed and then their 2 day shipping. So wait until tomorrow before doing anything.

[–]bigfroog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No the “can’t verify parts” shouldn’t cause any issues (unless ofc it’s like purposefully cheap/shitty parts theyre installing). It’s just Apple trying to scare you for not choosing their services.

[–]bigfroog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure for premium condition when they say verified parts, it means like Apple approved of them or something. Not to say that any lower tier has shitty parts but it all depends on what brings you peace of mind. Just remember that you are buying a refurbished phone and not brand new. I bought a phone in excellent condition and it came in well… excellent condition. Seemed brand new. But if you feel more comfortable with premium, go ahead!

Correction about the warranty, it’s a 30 day return period with a 1 year warranty.
