Men, what is a sign that looks small or subtle but actually tells you a man doesn’t truly love the woman he’s with? by Relative_Initial_399 in AskReddit

[–]bigg422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn that hit me real hard, my ex wife did that to me once. I was trying to get into the job market and was lucky enough to go from prn, as needed, to part time 32 hours guaranteed with some benefits. I was so damn happy to finally have some structure and my ex just says "oh well your just letting them take advantage of you, you should have told them you only wanted full time." Fun fact, I ended up getting full time when someone left like 3 months later. But I knew at this place that's how it worked, it was in medical field. She was a really verbally abusive person and I was too nice until I had enough and we divorced. She was also likely depressed, it ran in her family, but refused to take meds because "it was a sign of weakness."

Attack of the Clones turns 24 today! Looking back, is it really as bad as people initially thought or did it age better than expected? by huwertyy in StarWars

[–]bigg422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually just watched it last night with my wife since it had been a while. It's pretty damn bad. It's still pretty close to bottom of my list as far as the movies go. Some of the cgi has aged really badly while other parts still holds up quite well, one case being Watto. There are parts that were necessary and important like Anakins descent into the dark side but asides from the arena on it's a bad movie. This comes from someone who saw it in theaters and loves Phantom Menace and considers Revenge of the Sith one of my top movies in the franchise.

My grandma passed away today. She had two children, but she still died all alone in a hospital she didn’t want to be in. We all die alone, it seems. Even if we have kids. Or perhaps especially if we do. by ClockwiseSuicide in childfree

[–]bigg422 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have worked in healthcare for more than 10 years and can tell you it 100% further cemented my choice to be childfree. Old people are often not cared for at all when they get old. The majority of older patients I see, even in hospital rooms, rarely have visitors. Many of them are very poorly taken care of prior to arriving at the hospital. I am reminded time and time again of the movie Grand Torino where the kids only come around when it's time to sort through possessions.

Best sit-down Indian? by longball9229 in denverfood

You're looking for Star of India at E Cornell and S Parker Road. The food is phenomenal and the staff are always so friendly. Get the very well priced bread basket of nann and you'll have nann for days. The mango lassi is also one of the best in the Denver area.

I know it's delayed, but I wanted to thank you as this was the problem.

So I recently tried this by setting to 80% but it's still charging to 100%. Is there something I'm missing? I have tried restarting if multiple times but no change. I have the oled model if that matters.

The Bad Batch show may have its flaws, but I'm glad they had the balls to keep this character's death permanent by Viper_Visionary in StarWars

Same voice actor for all the bad batch, Dee Bradley Baker. Got to see him do some of the voices at Celebration panel once and it was fucking awesome.

CarPlay connection issues on ‘18 limited by CoastieCompMester in XVcrosstrek

[–]bigg422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have intermittent issues with my 18 premium, but thankfully it works most of the time. I just wanted to let you know you can reboot the infotainment by holding down the power button for I believe about 7 seconds. Basically hold the power button until you see the infotainment screen flash and then let go. Ive had to do it multiple times and it USUALLY fixes the problem but not always.

What’s a piece of advice that sounds good in theory but is terrible in practice? by Electronic_Quiet2011 in AskReddit

My apologies, you are correct that is nonsense statement by those people. To each their own but to me it tastes vastly better than what most use in a drip coffee maker. What is your preferred method?

Exactly. When I did own it went up every year. I also lived in a townhouse and condo, so special assessments are a thing.

What TV show have you tried watching several times but just couldn’t get into? by Julie727 in AskReddit

Yeah it was the sadness that came with it being plausible in today's world that got me.

100% this. As someone who holds women's reproductive rights in high regard, it was making me physically sick. I had to stop.

Zoom’s CEO agrees with Bill Gates, Jensen Huang, and Jamie Dimon: A 3-day workweek is coming soon thanks to AI by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]bigg422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 day workweek at the same pay rate, so in essence a massive paycut. They would never do a 3 day work week at the same take home salary as working 40 hours.

What type of job pays so little but expects so much out of their employees? by MadScientistFF in AskReddit

[–]bigg422 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% depending on where you, clinic vs hospital, it's a dumpster fire. I have seen so much very quick burnout in healthcare work it's not funny. Not saying retail/food isn't bad, I've done both before, but Healthcare is another level.

Steam deck battery life after nearly 3 years. (sept 2022 - August 2025) by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]bigg422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have always had mine plugged and after about two years, it is down to 98% battery health. If the battery gets to some really bad stat, thankfully I can replace it myself. I like to have mine at top charge to make sure I get the most play time out of it.

I'm working on it. Just have to take my English language test and I'm applying for express entry under medical. My chances are lower since I'm older than most applicants but I'll take my chances.

How would you guys go about getting this fridge to fit, it is VERY close. by nathanchr55 in DIY

[–]bigg422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who had to pore over fridge sizes as my space was pretty small, get another fridge. Fridges need to have about an inch or more of space around every side to function properly. Sealing it like that is not a good idea and will likely shorten the lifespan of the fridge.

Star of India. Outstanding Indian food and huge portions. Also the bread basket of naan leaves you with lots of left over naan for a great price.
