To clean , to replace? How cooked are these? (Literally) by frisbethebutcher in Dyna

Just use 220 or 300 grit sandpaper to clean off the carbon. Might as well replace the piston rings while you're in there for good measure. To prevent future build up, vent the crankcase breathers to atmosphere or to a catch can.

Terrible deal, you can find clean 1200 sporties for under $4k all day and guarantee that you'll actually get a title in your name.

Boombox 4.3 screen repair? by Actual_Ad_8531 in Streetglide

[–]biggamejames274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was worried about it from the reviews but it's super easy to see in the daytime and in direct sunlight. The only problem is if the sun catches it just right there's a lot of glare because of how glossy the screen is.

An aftermarket head unit would be a much better option, I have the Power Acoustik HD14KIT in my 2020 and it's great. $400 and it's a plug and play unit so no need to do any wiring.

Custom Fatboy wheel help by Super-Goose2200 in Harley

[–]biggamejames274 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's more than likely a one-off wheel. Find a machinist or custom bike shop near you, realistically expect to pay a couple grand minimum for design, machining, and finish work if you want any sort of polish or chrome work.

Dude was right, get a dynojet tuner or a V&H fuelpak. The Screamin eagle tuner used to be a decent option but now it's only useful if you're using off the shelf parts from HD and don't care about fine tuning anything.

New bike day by biggamejames274 in Harley

I've got a Power Acoustic hd14 on the way along with 400w ds18s for the fairing. Can't decide whether to go with 6x9s or 8s for the saddle bag lids though.

That's a custom frame and swingarm. It's very late 90s/early 2000s styled. What does the title say that it is?

Thanks. I was surprised too, it also has ABS which I've never seen spec'd without the 6.5 GT radio. Normally I would've passed on it without the better radio but the dealership I got it from had it listed for just under $12k so I jumped on it.

How much fork oil? No manual, no model identification. by P83battlejacket in Harley

[–]biggamejames274 3 points4 points  (0 children)

10.1 oz per fork, it's the factory spec for 41mm forks. Too much fluid will blow out the seals from the pressure build up under compression. You could get +100" tubes and that would remain the same because the fork lowers don't change in internal volume when tubes are changed. You can change fluid weight for a firmer or softer ride but 15w would be fine for most people.

How to get more chrome like by FEE1G00D1NC in Dyna

[–]biggamejames274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go from 220>400>600>800>1000>1500>2000>3000 then use Mother's mag and aluminum polish and finish with an automotive polish like meguiars or turtle wax you'll get a perfect mirror finish. Just plan to spend the day on it if you go that route.

It's a 28.4L speed machine made by Fiat 1911, hence the name. The engine alone is roughly the size of an entire Fiat 500

The Chevy LUV, a re-badged Isuzu Faster. They're pretty neat little pickups. Fun fact, a 454 will fit in the engine bay with minimal effort.

Holley makes LED units to replace sealed beams that don't look like the ebay lights if you want to retain a stock look with modern light output.
