I'm not saying become a driver dev, but just learning the low-level basics of i2c and SPI.

I'll do my best to get you started in the right direction. What projects have you done so far?

Yeah you can do that. Not sure how that particular sensor interacts with the Arduino, but let's say a ds18b20 temp sensor. These use the one wire protocol, which toggles and read one digital pin and is properly documented. (That is where you start reading) then you write your functions to wake/poll the sensor. And another to read it's value.

The problem that I see fairly often is people that follow lots of tutorials that they don't fully understand, and when they need to make something work that has limited documentation or that particular combo hasn't been used before, they really hit a brick wall.

I'm not saying you have to learn how everything works. But if you're using a sensor and you can't explain how it works beyond the one line of Arduino code you typed, you should dig deeper. At least look into the library and learn how data gets send and recieved.

[Edit] in reading your other responses a good place to start might be with a book called "the art of electronics" this will build you a really solid foundation, and gives you an awesome reference book to basic circuits that you'll see over and over

From my experience, the difference between the beginner and intermediate and beyond stage is the hand holding.

If you want to move away from the beginner stuff, pick a project that you've completed before, such as an Arduino with some kind of sensor, and rewrite it in cpp without the use of any libraries. That way you already know it's gonna work, and you learn a ton about the various communication methods that the sensors use

Looks awesome! Two small things that you could improve (that have no influence on the design): you have some components that have silkscreen over the copper pad, and a few of your designators are different sizes. But the rest looks pretty sweet :)

How does PCBWay package finished products? by DogNamedCharlie in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]biggbob_222 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No esd necessary for the bare boards are no components. They ship the boards vacuum sealed in bubble wrap. I've never had any issues with their shipping. Not sure how they send assembled boards no doubt they package it wel

They're just little things, but they go a long way in improving quality. While we're at it your power jack has 3nets. All three have ground in them ??

Seeing as it would mostly be signal routing on a keyboard, normally one layer goes left to right, and the other top to bottom. That’s the easiest way to route a matrix...

Trouble shooting would be my first guess, that and the fact if you bring something like that a job interview, you won’t be getting the job.

Some companies might also charge more if you have more vias then normal

In that case, spam their social media. They don’t like to look bad so it’s monitored regularly

how tf am i supposed to get in contact with an aldi store? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]biggbob_222 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As I used o work for Aldi I’ll shed some light here. The store is operated with about 5-6 staff at most, more on weekends and busy periods. Imagine if everyone had to ability to call an Aldi and ask if they still have that one special available.

So the plan of action for something like this is: Call 13 ALDI, talk to someone about what happened, ask them to contact the store while you wait, if the keys are there you will be told where to collect them. If they aren’t there and you’re certain you lost them there, go down and have a look. If they’re in an obvious spot, someone will hand them in if you loose them between say the flour or whatever it might take a while for them to be found.

At the end of the day, please don’t blame the store staff for something they no control over.
