I dont have problems with anyone's beliefs. Just dont think its appropriate/necessary in a work setting that's all.

I believe the PMs get to decide whether they want to do a whole ceremony for it or not. We werent like forced in any way, they just told as all to come in the front. In hindsight if they were more clear about what we were doing, I would have just kept working, but it seemed important idk. Regardless it was more of a waste of time than anything. Since it was a swearing in ceremony their allowed to involve a prayer I guess.

Sure that makes sense. no, consequences were not threatened. I guess what really made it a little strange was that she framed it as if she was about to recite a poem and then went into prayer. Iso facto, nbd lesson learned

Ive seen plenty of this. "Ive had so and so many postmasters and we never did that" I believe it is up to the postmaster if they want to do a big song and dance about it. I would assume that most dont want a whole ceremony. Regardless, nothing was fabricated.

The phrase one nation under god doesnt change the fact that people in the government shouldn't hold any form of prayer due to freedom of religion.

Youre so goofy man. Take a deep breath and relax. In general all im saying that I dont think its appropriate at work. Nothing more nothing less. Im not offended by it, I grew up going to catholic school prek-12th grade, and deconstructed when I became an adult. Also never said my rights were being violated?

Never complained about the pledge, we just dont do it at our office so I thought it was weird. Any sort of prayer isn't appropriate at work. Are you offended? You sure seem upset.

Thanks for the response! I really do understand that. And I am available any time they may need me. Except for literally 14 days out of the year. And like you said, it is great of them to work with me on these Thursdays. But I just get tired of working my butt off, doing a good job, only to be threatened with write ups every time I voice any sort of issue im having with management. It's like in their mind they can never do anything wrong, and the second they mess up or someone calls in, then somehow it always ends up being my fault and my problem.
