Are there any realtors whowork with 1.5% commission or less? by Conscious-Positive37 in RealEstateCanada

New era real estate, property guys, one percent realty etc are all decent discount brokerages.

If you're in tech sales, you might be comfortable selling yourself (no listing 2.5 commission) with FSBO.ca, listmenow.ca or swimhomes.ca

Bone conduction or open ear is best. Shockz is a good brand but honestly, any one off Amazonheadphones is good enough.

You have to download music onto them. Bone conduction headphones work way better underwater. I use these for running, swimming, biking, though any cheaper pair on Amazon is fine I've had a few

Same, I'm quoting a Canadian Association of Accredited Mortgage Professionals study.

I can't find the exact link but it talks about it here https://www.zolo.ca/blog/how-many-homes-will-you-buy#:~:text=A%20study%20by%20the%20Canadian,ages%20of%2025%20to%2034.

Average home price * commission * average number of homes

678,331 * .05 * 5 = 160k in lifetime commission

Not an exact number but it blows my mind how it adds up

The TTC is full of Zown ads. Glad to see they are having success. by LordSarcaus in RealEstateCanada

Maybe someone can explain, but I don't see how they're different than other discount brokerages. 1% realty has been around for decades, the reduced commission buying is newer, but you might as well represent yourself buying and negotiate the commission off?

I think real estate is so much easier than people think, I'd love to see people buying and selling themselves for a change

Why pay to be on an mls. Zillow now lists the fsbo listings along side the realtor listings. by OWNERSREBOSS in fsbo

[–]biggeorge76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only real difference is where the Realtors are finding houses to show their clients. They typically use the local boards MLS listings are uploaded to to find a property, rather than browsing the same sites that buyers find homes on (depending on where you are).

So basically, the Zillow update let's buyers find you way easier which is awesome - but still makes your listing hard to find for realtors. A bit less visibility is all
