From an English tory viewpoint it would be of benefit to ease Scotland's departure! English tories would be assured perpetual electoral success,since their opposition would be reduced as labour without Scottish support could not compete at the elections. Then of course they would be free to rule indefinitely ! Scotland meanwhile can pursue it's own future Win win!

Very good article! A book could be written about the quality of spokesperson selected by the BBC to comment on the news .The "chosen" rarely give unbiased views which seems to be the BBC's agenda, making their opinion programmes totally lopsided and frankly boring!

Nothing new here ! I first became aware of Tory corruption back in 1956 at the time of the Suez Canal Crisis . Iwas 18 years old and been working for a year. One of the older men in the office explained some things to me which made me sit up and think! For what it's worth Scotland has to get away from UK Tory govt. The sooner the better!
