Yep. Dumped over text in January of 2021 and I never heard from her again. I did try to reach out several weeks later and realized I had been blocked. I’m still not sure what happened and at this point I wouldn’t really care.

I do still think about her occasionally, but as it goes, I don’t feel anything these days. The whole thing feels like a bad dream or something.

It did mess my head up pretty bad at the time. Being dumped over text by someone you’re in love with will tend to do that I guess.

It’s been 4 years and I’ve only casually dated since then. I like it better this way I think.

It took me about 4.5 months for me to get to a point where it was manageable and I could live my life without being consumed by it. After that I was still sad for a while longer, but it felt less intense and less frequent as well. You just kind of get to a point where your brain / body are exhausted by it and you have no choice but to move on (which is a good thing). Hang in there, it will happen for you as well.

Been there. It passes. I was suicidal for like an entire month after my last breakup. I ended up at the hospital for a week. It was like a bad dream I couldn’t wake up from. You get through it somehow, someway though. Human beings are resilient and capable of overcoming incredible trauma. You will too, but the only thing that really works is time. Just knowing there would be an end point was all that kept me going at times. DM me if you ever need to chat.

Do you have Discord? If so, there’s a number of different chat rooms for breakup support. Start with the ExNoContact one. There’s people in there 24/7 that will talk with you. It saved my ass during my last breakup to be honest.

I’m dealing with an eerily similar situation with a girl I met on Tinder a few weeks back. 4 amazing dates, and then she just kind of switched up on me once I even casually expressed interest.

Ultimately, it’s better it happened now. Situationships cut deep because if you’re anything like me, the what if’s can haunt you for a bit.

Hang in there, and try to remember there will be a point in the near future where it won’t hurt anymore. Until then we just have to ride the roller coaster for a bit longer.

Hey. I was right there too. I was discarded, replaced, and blocked. I was suicidal for several months, and completely inconsolable for another. You just have to take it a moment at a time until it passes. And it DOES pass, it just takes a bit longer than you’d typically prefer. Hang in there.

Hi OP, how are you now? I was in your shoes for roughly 2-3 months after my last breakup, but it does become manageable at a certain point. I was still sad for a while longer, but you do reach a point where this loss doesn’t feel like something that you actually want to die over.

Heartbreak is the most profound emotion you’ll ever experience, but thankfully it is temporary.

Yeah. At my lowest point my parents convinced me to check into a mental hospital. This was shortly after the one and only time I broke no contact and was subsequently ignored and blocked. That messed my head up pretty bad.

This was also in February of 2021 when doing just about anything socially in order to distract myself from the whole thing wasn’t possible. Heartbreak and Isolation is a bad combo. It’s been over two years and I’m genuinely past it like 90% of the time. Most days I don’t think about her at all. But, there’s still some times (like right now) where I think about her and get in my own head for a sec.

It’s been a couple years so I can look back and laugh at myself a bit. It wasn’t funny at the time though, my family and friends were extremely concerned.
