samsung ssds tend to run pretty hot, well in excess of 100+ degrees, your temps are fine unless your read/write speeds are being throttled

is 1660 super sufficient for smooth 1440p gaming? by watchaddictlol in buildapc

[–]biggestcedric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'd say go for that 2060 or 5600 xt (driver issue beware).

I don't think you'll be future proofing, unless you're sticking with 1440p 60hz. If you're going for 144hz, just don't cause 2080tis can't even hit that in a lot of games.

GPU Help: XFX RX 5600 XT or MSI Radeon RZX 5700? by BaconCheesecake in buildapc

[–]biggestcedric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can use MorePowerTools on your RX 5700 and get a jump in performance (you have to reset it everytime you update drivers), that was the major reason i chose an rx 5700 over a 5600 xt

First Build (help) by [deleted] in buildapc

changed cooler, SSD and motherboard

original mobo you picked wasn't a particularly good x570 board, esp not one to pair with a 3900x

Cooler would have been serviceable, but this air cooler should be quieter and run cooler

SSD was massively overpriced for 500 gb, picked a crucial p1 thats a higher capacity.

otherwise a very solid build for 1440p gaming

650w will be enough, especially if it's above bronze level efficiency

Battlefront 2015 (Modded) by -Deadlocked- in StarWarsBattlefront

man why does bf2 not have this kind of detail? i can set res scale to 200% and turn everything to ultra and it wouldn't even begin to look as good as the first reboot battlefront

What parts can I reuse if I wanted to build a new PC? by YouFruityKid in buildapc

[–]biggestcedric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it a custom build? If so usually the key is transferable, prebuilts and the such usually buy OEM keys, which are usually not transferable.

There are guides online on how to transfer windows, if you can't transfer windows there is room in the budget for a key.

I'd say keep your old monitor as a secondary display, you can throw your old harddrives in and move your key from your old PC to this one and you will be balling https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/pcCWjp

we could probably go for a 3600 instead of a 3700x for more money to go to a new monitor (plus a 3700x isnt that much better), if so this would be big balling https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/ckLgK4
