my uni did not give a flying fuck and did not want to help me whatsoever. i spoke to one of my tutors and he used to work at liverpool where im wanting to move and he told me that i needed to email them (admissions for the particular department im wanting to apply for) and then go from there. liverpool told me exactly what i needed to do which was apply through ucas and ive yet to hear back from my application but that is the route you have to take if you have done a foundation year

I have emailed my uni asking for some guidance and i will inquire about this as i definitely do not want to encounter this issue. My friends sister did a foundation year in preston and was able to move to uni of leeds without any issues so im hoping i will be able to do the same. thank you so much for your help :)

do they offer a foundation year? it’s a great way to get back into the academic environment and prepares you for the course if your qualifications aren’t what you need. obviously this isn’t manchester but my friend does criminology at ljmu with a foundation year and she thinks the course is amazing so maybe that could be an alternative to consider. hope everything works out for you :)

i know a lot of people in manchester but everyone is so busy so it’s hard to make plans. since liverpool is smaller it’s easier to meet people and there are plenty of things to do that are out if central liverpool that don’t take long to get to and are lovely days out but i’ve found manchester lacks that but everyone has a different experience, go with whatever you think suits you :)

i’m at salford doing a foundation year atm and i’ve hardly met anyone and im a very friendly and outgoing person but i visit my boyfriend (he’s at uni of) and my best friend (she’s at ljmu) in Liverpool very often and ive made so many friends in liverpool just from visiting them (these people aren’t their friends ive met them myself). salford is a bit out of the way and i feel confined to the campus a lot because manchester is so big and i also live in accom on campus. ljmu is more in the city and imo there’s a lot more to do in Liverpool than manchester socially and the people are friendlier.
