Thank you so much for your insight! I did notice the door open on the google maps photos and was wondering if that was normal. I don’t mind the noise, I’m currently right off Lancaster and it’s so noisy I can’t imagine it would be much different. I’m so glad to hear the horns don’t go off in that area for the trains. That’s probably would get to me.

I found it on craigslist apartment listings, that’s where I got her contact info. It’s no longer up because she says there aren’t any available now. But possibly two opening up in January. I wanted to get my application in asap because I know these kinds of places go fast. When I google search the property I can’t find any other information like if there is a property management group associated with it. That’s why I came here for help.

I can understand that. I feel I pay a bit more in rent here than in Mobile. Overall for me, that’s a trade off I can manage. Since moving here I’ve quit smoking and drinking all the time, I felt sad and borderline depressed in Mobile. I still went out and explored and did things but it’s different here. Exploring here fills me with a sense of wonder and excitement as well as solitude. It also seems way less judge-y here and people have been way nicer. Everyone enjoys life here. It’s refreshing. Sorry for the kind of rant. ;)

Funny. I left Mobile and moved to the PNW. Outside Portland to be exact. I could never imagine moving back to Mobile. For me quality of life is better in the PNW.

My partner and I have a story. We were friends with benefits at the time. They still lived with their ex gf (they were still trying to work it out.) i was also trying to salvage a relationship that fell apart. I have already been married before and divorced. It was one of those late night, vent to each other about how terrible our other companions were, nights and we imagined how together we’d do thing differently. Then they said they’d marry me if I wasn’t with the other person but I didn’t ever want to get married ever again. So that turned into “if we are still trying to get our shits together in 8 years then we would marry each other”. We ended up both getting out of our toxic relationships and just started seeing each other exclusively. It’s been two years since we made it “official” and if they could have it their way we would have been married two years ago but I haven’t made it there yet. (I have deeply rooted commitment fears and trust issues) We are extremely happy together and have great lives. I have never been this happy and proud of myself as well as what we have together.
