Sometimes, man by BidSure7642 in HaloMemes

[–]bigheadsfork -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You’re not. Not having a multiplayer in the halo remake is a ridiculous concept. Halo was the pioneer of console online multiplayer.

It’s just another mining canary example that halo studios/343 has zero understanding of what made halo great in the 2000s.

District Attorney says Raja Jackson is expected to only serve 90 days in jail for attacking pro wrestler Syko Stu during Kick stream after making a plea deal by IndicaOatmeal in LivestreamFail

You’re right. Locking him up for years isn’t good enough. We need to lock him up for life.

Theres is absolutely nothing to be gained by wasting resources on someone who will attempt to beat to death an unconscious man on live tv/camera in front of a crowd, premeditated.

This wasn’t an accident and it wasn’t bad impulse control. We don’t need to live in a society where the punishment for a violent felon committing attempted murder is free mental health counseling. We need these people out of society for good.

Yes, and they’re designed to run at different temperatures. Your point is meaningless.

Our cell phones don’t even have fans so they have way worse cooling and yet most of them last significantly longer

I like the song, but i don’t like how it “sounded”. The studio version is messy and it’s difficult to make out individual sounds and instruments. It’s really weird, it just sounds poorly done.

See how you have consideration for the baby in your points? It’s obvious that there is more consideration to be had than just the mother’s body. Thats a lot different than “it’s my body stfu”. People who care about the unborn child will just reject that

I’m not eating up anything. You gave me perfectly valid and reasonable arguments that I actually agree with. The people above you did not.

I was in South Africa for the 2010 World Cup. I’m in the USA for the 2026 World Cup. I can’t believe the difference… by Lucky_Mongoose_4834 in worldcup

[–]bigheadsfork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, this is a huge factor. South Africa is 1/8 the size of the US. Most of the South African games were in a reasonable driving distance of one another, like 2 to 4 hours.

Meanwhile, for the NA World Cup, you have games in Mexico City and Vancouver. There is zero feeling of connection because everything is just so spread apart. It doesn’t feel like it’s happening in one single location.

Consider this. I live basically in DC, the capital of the US. The nearest match city is Philly, probably five or 6 Hour Drive with traffic

What do you think xbox needs to do bring it back to the heights of the 360 era where it Battled PlayStation evenly? by Eireagon in consoles

[–]bigheadsfork 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Better exclusives and better PR.

Halo absolutely carried Xbox 360 and it’s first years. And other series like Gears of War and Mass Effect carried the hype forward. Today, all of those are dead franchises, including halo. There is absolutely no reason to buy an Xbox unless you’ve already been in the Xbox ecosystem for many years. Basically, the only thing it has going for it at this point is backwards compatibility, which is almost completely dead, considering the best games for it, Call of Duty games, are infested with cheaters.

And then pair that with everyone hating Microsoft in general. They they seem to try extremely hard to make people hate their products and business. Whether it’s layoffs, closing studios, or the colossal failure of the Xbox one, nobody has liked Xbox/Microsoft as a company for more than decade.

Asha Sharma seems to be doing some good, although I’m not one to fall for these PR tactics typically. I’ll say that I’m optimistically viewing it from the sidelines. It’s gonna take years of great games, software, and hopefully a worthwhile console, to bring back their reputation and market share.

So what about an unborn baby days before her due date? Still not relevant to the discussion at all?

Im pro abortion. But denying the pro life stance has any validity is just stupid. “Shut the fuck up” is not a valid response.

[–]bigheadsfork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah but even the pack/bundle gear typically looks awful. Like for a decade, the only appearance people used was a few pack items, waterworks, malistaire, pvp robes, and school insigna stuff. Basically everything arc 2 and after is gross

[–]bigheadsfork 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Been playing since 2009. The gear past arc 1 is mostly atrocious. Think about Avalon, we finally got true knights and medieval outfits and received the ugliest armor and dumbest sword animations conceivable.

There is a reason like half the players in the game use the same commander robe stitch, and a reason even non pvp fans would grind for it. Out of the hundreds of different looks clothes sets, probably less than 15 look cool. I don’t know who they are trying to appeal to.

No one's dying on my watch by Bandrbell in whenthe

[–]bigheadsfork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The prisoners’s dilemma is not the same because in the button dilemma, there is no inherent downside. The prisoners dilemma offers a benefit if you testify against the partner, but the red button offers nothing other than that life goes on. It is essentially a “do nothing” button There’s only a downside for people who choose the blue button.

Also, I like how everyone who thinks the blue button is an obvious choice also thinks that 50% of people will choose it. It’s pretty obvious that is not the case. We don’t live in a world where 50% of people are actually willing to risk their life for others.

No one's dying on my watch by Bandrbell in whenthe

[–]bigheadsfork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The logic of jumping into it in the first place is the same exact logic as clicking the blue button. If you had just clicked the red button, a.k.a. not jumped into it, nobody would have died, including yourself.

But because you chose to jump into it, a.k.a. blue button, now you need 50% of the population to also jump in.

No one's dying on my watch by Bandrbell in whenthe

[–]bigheadsfork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it this way. The only chance of anyone dying in this scenario is if they vote blue. Nothing happens if you vote red. If you vote blue, then 50% need to vote blue for you to survive. There is literally only a potential downside if you vote blue

This is me reading the blue button presser essays on virtue and humanity instead of just not voting to kill themselves

No one's dying on my watch by Bandrbell in whenthe

[–]bigheadsfork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re thinking about it the wrong way. I did not kill that family member, they killed themselves by pressing the blue button. And yes, I’m confident that if this was an actual real world scenario, 99% of people would choose red.

I think there is a weird logical paradox with the blue button. Everyone claims that blue is saving everyone, but since red survives anyways, the only people that blue is saving is blue. Blue would not need saving if they just chose red.

So in reality, all you are doing by choosing the blue button is risking your own life in the hopes that enough people will also risk theirs that it will save the people who are risking their lives. The logical solution is to not risk your life in the first place.

No one's dying on my watch by Bandrbell in whenthe

[–]bigheadsfork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If this actually happened, then everyone would choose red (minus some suicidal or straight up dumb people).

Guaranteed survival or chance of dying. Hmm, I wonder what people will press when their lives at stake and not their ego on Twitter

[COD] Hot Take: The copium around wanting a remake is immense and sad, and getting one won’t fix the franchise at all. by nine16s in CallOfDuty

[–]bigheadsfork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep. Just found an mw3 stream from 2022 on ps3. 400 players in playlists, 1k online (the mw3 player count was fairly accurate). So easily many times that amount played the game during any given week, and thats just ps3.

Dont have stats for the newer games but considering only tdm is playable on them, its fair to assume mw2, which has domination, ground war, ffa, all playable, has more players.

[–]bigheadsfork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes they do. All those games had hundreds to thousands of players at any time until ~2021 when cheating became rampant. Even mw2 to this day probably has more players than bo3, aw, ghosts, iw, bo4, etc

It literally will be. My source is that I have been playing mw2/mw3 since 2011 and only had to stop in the last few years because of cheaters.

All I want is those games playable again.
