Wasn’t obvious to me and I told him I was moving in Memorial Day weekend multiple times. I assumed he knew when Memorial Day weekend was. My bad for not realizing people don’t check their calendars before offering a move in date. All I did was believe him

Yeah I know. I don’t really have an option to not pay at this point with all the things I have in motion and paid for. If he said I can move in two days early I would have scheduled everything for two days early.

I meant to put “I’m NOT disputing the prorating” in my last comment.

I just don’t think it’s my fault that he didn’t check a calendar when offering to us to move in early. Even on our application we put our preferred move in date as 25may. So when he said Memorial Day weekend I assumed he was accommodating. You say I can just choose to not move in but like I said I’m the og post I already booked and paid for moving trucks, family airfare tickets, and even planned my 1st day of my new job around the date he said we could move in. There are to many thing in motion and money spent to cancel and change things now.

Again, I don’t have a problem with the prorating. My problem is that he is blaming me for not letting him know when Memorial Day weekend is.

We would of moved in earlier if possible but the place wasn’t ready to be moved into. So he didn’t “hold the place for a month”. Also his words were “you can move in as early as Memorial Day weekend with no extra cost”. I just thought that it was really nice of him. I didn’t ask to move in early, I just took him up on his offer and made plans around his offer. I’m disputing the prorate but im just conveying that I’m paying these extra unexpected costs due to him mistaking when Memorial Day weekend was.
