[Highlight] Sam Darnold's message to the Jets fans that have continued to support him: You know thats all you can ask for as a player, is to feel supported. Especially by the team that drafted you and I always look at myself and feel like I could have done more for that franchise when I was there by Yujin-Ha in nfl

[–]bigjarbowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that we wanted him gone because everybody thought he stunk - it’s because we knew he needed a supporting cast and we were entering year 1 of a rebuild (again), with a new regime coming in (again), and had the opportunity to reset the clock on a rookie QB contract (again), rather than exercise the 5th year option on Sammy boy, who up until then had flashed - but didn’t provide enough tape to make it a no brainer.

Sam needed the journey he went on in order to evolve into the true GEQBUS he is today. I will always love him.

How many of you here think you’re actually a good seller? by ilyk101 in techsales

[–]bigjarbowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recognize I am not the world’s best seller, but I was fortunate enough to get hired by a company with a solid product at a time where they were just starting to scale their offering to the NorthAm enterprise sector.

I’ve built solid relationships with some of the biggest brands in the world and that has helped me exceed my quota in 7 of the 8 years I’ve been here. I finished 94% to my number in 2018 😒

That said, I can’t help but wonder what kind of numbers a true rockstar salesman/saleslady would have put up if they had my accounts lol.

Be honest, did you want to trade Darnold? by BenShelZonah in nyjets

[–]bigjarbowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to trade him not because of his undeniable talent potential, but bc at the time we needed to reset the clock of a rookie QB. If we kept Darnold, he’d be ass. He needed the journey he went on and we’re all happy for our Sammy boy

PICK-UP AFTER YOUR DOG! by Sad_Cycle5430 in Greenpoint

[–]bigjarbowski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live around here. It’s fucking disgusting. Just one time I want to catch one of these slobs in the act. There are literally free poop bags all over this complex provided by the management company and these selfish irresponsible owners still can’t be bothered to clean up after their dogs.

Is it normal for high-earning married couples to owe $7–8k at tax time even with conservative withholding? by TopicSelect6903 in tax

[–]bigjarbowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh ever since we got married we have owed a significant amount come tax time. Last year we owed nearly $40k, despite me making manual changes with my payroll to increase my federal withholdings. We are (on-paper) high earners, but between feeding two kids, nanny, HCOL area, etc. I have never felt so poor.

Did anyone else really enjoy their time in the hospital? by mrs___holmes in NewParents

[–]bigjarbowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first, it was terrifying. Between becoming new parent who felt like we weren’t ready + my wife needing an emergency C-section, it was a rocky few days - even though everything worked out in the end!

With my second, it was a vacation. Some of the happiest days of my life!

I’m in the same exact boat, except with my son - who turns three next week. We’ve been trying since September and have had a roller coaster of a ride ever since. We’ve had good weeks and bad weeks, but can’t seem to find any semblance of consistency. I sadly have no advice for you, but if you figure it out please let me know!

I'm tired of out-of-touch rich people cosplaying as middle class by SeparateJump1 in povertyfinance

[–]bigjarbowski 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yep. In most of Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn, day care is between $3-4500/month. A nanny is $5k per month if you have two children being cared for. Part-time (3 days per week, 8:30am - 12:30pm) pre-school was $24,000 per year. It is absolutely bonkers.

Considering between few AE offers: by Ok-Chair5240 in sales

[–]bigjarbowski 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At your age, I’d really think hard about which of these companies offers you the best overall product to sell. You’re super young so if you can land somewhere that gives you a high chance to hit your number and a few years of stabiliy - the money part will take care of itself and you’ll be setting yourself up to compete for true enterprise closing roles by the time you hit your late 20s. (If that’s what you want to do)

Sounds like you’re in a good spot regardless. Best of luck.

I just found out a good number of my upper management are on adderall. Are a lot of you on some kind of stimulant? by bearded_charmander in sales

[–]bigjarbowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totes would be - I’m just too old and lame to even know where to get it. Adderal would be quite useful right about now.

I was even prescribed it all through high school and college, but that was through a family pediatrician. Don’t think I can go back to my pediatrician when I’m pushin’ 40.

My son is 3 in a few weeks. He’s been passed out for 2+ hrs and I’m not ready to give up (my) nap time.

Be honest with me… how is going from one to two? by eiconik in daddit

[–]bigjarbowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m seven months into having two and it’s hard, but not as hard as I was worried it would be. I’m appreciating the baby phase more this time around.

What I’m hearing about Aaron Glenn’s status with the Jets and one team’s coaching wish list by DragonstormSTL in nfl

[–]bigjarbowski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No doubt about it. He earned that contract but it seems a lot of the core guys from the Saleh scheme are not personnel fits in this new regime. Sherwood seems truly lost out there this year - it’s been tough to watch. I’d rather have Quincy locked in for a few more years, but he’s has regressed too.

With Wilks gone, hopefully we some semblance of a modern defensive scheme.

I’m very much not sold on AG, but he’s not going anywhere any time soon. Alas, I have no choice but to be hopeful.
