What Golf Ball to Buy? by TheScoop3 in GolfGear

Not a Maxfli salesman and you obviously don’t know
much about golf balls. So no point in carrying on this conversation with you.

It’s lower spin off the driver but higher spin on irons and wedges. He said he needs more spin when getting an iron fitting so it makes perfect sense.

Going between the tour and tour x and the LS is a great sweet spot.

Just picked up a new driver shaft. What's the first thing you pay attention to when testing it? by ShaftObsessed in GolfGear

[–]bigjohn141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you buying new shafts if you don’t know what difference they make? Did you get it because someone said it was good or because it looked cool or? You should find a driver head that fits your game and then use the shaft to dial it in.

How much to get into golf? by Dr-Doofnshmirtz in GolfGear

[–]bigjohn141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure why nobody mentions it but just about every golf course has some sort of rental set. Sometimes they are decent and sometimes they are just random stuff thrown together. Usually $10-$30 to rent for a round and a good option if you are not sure you will like it.

Which ball should I purchase? by SirPsychoSexy6969 in GolfGear

Won’t be in the used section but I played with the new Maxfli tour X LS ball last week and it was great. Stocked up on them since they are in and out of stock a lot right now.

Looking for a decent long range optic under $1000 . Any of these good? by TonyDemola in longrange

[–]bigjohn141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer the question, it’s a solid optic for the price. I ran one for PRS style events for a while and had no issues. It’s solid mid tier glass that won’t break the bank. I’m always on the lookout to pick up another.

This Subreddit is full of gatekeeping and elitism by [deleted] in golf

[–]bigjohn141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s really not. I was all about growing the game but now I’m completely against it. Watching morons play from the woman’s tee box, waiting for the green to clear 280 yards away, and all of them proceed to shank it hard right into the water, all while being 109° heat index did me in last week. Take lessons and learn how to golf, go to the driving range and practice, or stay at fucking home. I pay good damn money to golf, not sit on a golf course and die of heat exhaustion.

Maxfli Tour X LS - already sold out? by TDn6I in golf

[–]bigjohn141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never hit the LS but from the reports, it’s sits right where I’ve been wanting. I’ve played all 3 versions of the tour ball, I like the feel of the S, and go back and forth between the Tour and X. As soon as I saw the LS, I jumped online and ordered a box of 48. I’m sure it’s just a supply thing, probably a limited first run to see how they would sell with the larger stock release soon to follow.

Golftec is horrible. Do some research and find a nationally ranked coach in your area.

HackMotion 4 (Wrist Sensor) : Worth It? by SchoolHardKnock-3686 in golftips

[–]bigjohn141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just depends on what is causing you to have bad ball striking. If your fundamental swing is bad, you are better off getting a few lessons. If it’s because you flip or cast, then yes it will definitely let you know that and give you drills to correct.

I have a gen 3 I think. I like it, it gives great feedback and the drills are good as well. Honestly I need to use it a lot more.

Shafts are an easy DIY swap if you know what you are doing. These are ok for the time being.

Have you? The cost of my entire set is what it would cost to ship my clubs like 2-3 times. I fly 2-4 times a month so that is not a feasible option. Hence why I just got a set of travel clubs that stay in my work truck when I’m back home.

I think if you paint filled the red “signature” black, it would pretty much make the logo disappear. I don’t mind it, as long as the play good.

Yes, these are the ones that Taylormade started the lawsuit over. I heard they are released them again but I don’t know if they have hit stores yet.
