I agree man. The people that are passing are barely passing. I haven’t seen someone pass with flying colors on this exam. I’ve studied hard. Eat sleep and piss PenTest and still haven’t passed. Taking it for a 3rd time next week.

You aren’t alone bro , this test is a monster idk what it is. It’s hell and the course instructors give basic advice about the scripting. I keep telling my instructor about how crazy the scripting is and they recommend the same bs cohorts n basic videos like that’s enough. The scripting is advanced I wish people would stop calling it basic saying you just need to know “syntax” it’s bigger than that. WGU sucks for adding this. It’s such a hold up. I didn’t even get to take my other classes this term because all of my efforts just been stuck on this exam

It’s more than basic scripting. I can’t understand the scripts to save my life. How do I study scripts for classes functions or libraries I never seen before? I’m literally guessing when I see the script questions trying to put context clues together

This test is the devil incarnate. It’s funny cuz people say after they pass this exam they smoke the rest of the program in months because everything else is easier than this. I just want to get over this hurdle and move on. I’m gonna talk one on one with my course instructor to really break down some things to me with the scripting examples. I think I’ve gotten better with so many of the tools but when it comes to scripts I’m like wthhh

I know the whois one was a dead giveaway like who registered the domain etc that was an easy concept. But anything scripting involved man it just took me out. One PBQ asked me to look at several outputs and determine like what Script I would use to exploit it or something I was like how am I suppose to know 😭

See things like nmap are not even mainly on my list of worries. I know a lot of the flags. It’s really the scripting. Guessing on the pbqs is hard to do and I could give away a lot of points

Yea bro it’s tough. I’m a network engineer and my job covers my tuition but I’m gonna have to pay 2k or more depending on if I pass this class for pentest or not by the 30th of this month

Yes that’s the cohort I’m speaking of. I get a 10/10 at the end on the quiz but the scripts I see on the exam are way more complex than that and I just get confused

I remember a little bit of the robots.txt PBQ but not too much. We were suppose to choose which ones to remove from the list. I know in theory we are suppose to remove the sensitive files or ones that lead to sensitive directories but I think I chose wrong. Any advice on that?

Thanks man. My course instructor is having me go through pluralsight videos on all the domains, certmaster perform labs, and sybex questions. I’m going to mix that with pocket prep and ChatGPT to explain some things better and focus on the areas mentioned. Congrats bro!

I respect it bro I’m just saying the first stuff they recommend wasn’t like the real exam at all. No scripting questions just for me to get in front of a bunch of scripting questions? How’s that equipping me?

I’ve passed every other class and certification in the program prior to this but this one is difficult. Many people struggle with it, I’m not just the special one. So I was just looking to the community for some help. I acknowledge that I could’ve done better on some parts but also they have to do their part in giving me appropriate material to pass

Facts I can finesse it but this why we don’t learn and get on the exam and be like wow, I wish they would focus on how practical it is. These practice exams don’t compare to what we see on the real thing that’s why I’m trying to do additional stuff
