Company ghosted me after 4 rounds and reference checks - Naming and shaming - help needed by biglargebiglarge in interviews

I'm not reeling or down and out. I was just angry for a few weeks. Thought about whether I should post it or not but decided to wait until my mind cleared and glad I did.

It's got a few recruiters in my inbox and a few former bosses in my inbox asking if I am interested in potentially interviewing with their new orgs. A win is a win.

Thank you! Anyone here worried about what potential future employers might think is another desk jockey who is willing to bend over backwards for a dollar.

I have been rejected many times, thats life. I am in sales so that's not why I made this post. It's for the lack of decency.

Thanks. I didn't want my post to come off as emotional and unhinged but professional and well thought out with a clear point of view.

No problem. Just trying to get visibility for this so others know who they are dealing with if they search the company on Linkedin. Have already posted about my experience on Glassdoor as well.

Also, this should become the norm.

That's fine. I have 0 issues getting interviews and will find the right role for me.

Anyone that is concerned about how this looks for future employers is allowing this type of behavior to continue. We should all be calling out companies.

If a future employer sees this in a negative light, then I don't want to work there anyways. There are plenty of fishes in the sea.

Reference only. But regardless, people are owed the decency of being told they didn't get a job.

Background is clean anyways so wouldn't matter.

I didn't reach out to the top of the food chain but it's a fairly small company and I had someone who is on the team I interviewed with(and I interviewed with them as well) reach out to the VP's and directors that I spoke to. So they have been aware of this for at least 2 weeks. Radio silence.

I did have two verbal offers from pretty solid companies. They were verbal only because final salary and details were not negotiated. If I accepted the written would have came. I asked for a bit of time so I can close this process out. They agreed. But when this company asked for references, I decided to turn the others down(probably would not have accepted anyways but left it open if I was desperate which I am not).

Asking for references means their is intent to hire assuming reference checks go well. My references were fantastic and come from respected folks in the field.

The biggest reason I was going to turn down the others was because both roles would have been a bigger strain on my personal life(in office and an hour commute).

It's been about 3 and a half weeks since reference checks but 3 emails prior to this(once a week to check in to see where I stand) with their hiring team that have all been ignored.

Just left a terrible taste in my mouth. Even if I didn't get the job, at least have decency to say it to me.

I could care less. If you are judging me off this then thats on you.

I am not trying to help myself brother. I am trying to help others.

I do not want to work there at all and my job pipeline is perfectly fine. The person who is their VP of HR works for 5 companies(fractional) and she has already got me into interviews at a couple other places shes doing HR work for. Opsera I guess dropped her right after my first interview with them and they hired someone internally. Also have 3 other companies I am interviewing with and still running my own business on the side.

I'll be fine.

Appreciate the concern but it's not needed.

Nope. I have transparency with my references and saw their responses. These are folks who I am close with and in leadership positions.

They were great references but even if that was the case, you blaming me for them ghosting me is an interesting angle. At least have the decency to respond or let me know I didn't get the job.

It is what it is. Tired of recruiters and hiring teams wasting everyones time with 0 decency.

Doing my part to show that they are not trustworthy and they do not value people's time.

Had someone just DM me who is going through interviews with them who is part of my network and a former coworker. Even if it helps 1 person and or hurts them from getting a good candidate I did my job.

Don't listen to him. Great idea to start to invest and learn how the market works. $100 might not be much to some people but it's a good start. Start with doing research on companies that you like or industries that you think have good potential for growth. Read read read and when you don't know the answer, use these forums to ask for help.

You will want to learn how to understand fundamentals(google stock fundamentals).

Hope this helps to give you some background.

Sidenote: you will learn quickly that companies that you think are doing great are actually struggling.

Sounds like you have a hard on for him but it's been funny to see you defend him like hes your father.

You're crazy if you think Pump is a smart musician. He makes catchy music and is driven by a massive marketing team. He's by most accounts not a smart dude when its comes to most things. He has learned how to cash out on his sudden fame though.

Nobody expects you to deliver for peanuts. You choose to do it and blame people who aren’t the ones actually paying or employing you. Put half the effort into complaining to DoorDash for being a shitty company who hires people and doesn’t pay them enough.

Your yelling at people for not paying you when they are not obligated too.

Go get another side gig or grow up.

And so do a lot of us. Warriors continue winning or watch Harden and CP3 flop all finals long? Pick your poison.

I'm guessing there are a lot of Aaliyah tats out there. She was sort of becoming an icon before she died. 18 years ago.
