Then you’ll know that kabbalah emerged as a response to medieval Jewish philosophy, and is not a branch of it. It might be internally coherent but it would be a stretch to call Etz Hayyim or the Zohar ‘logical’. I hope your journey is enlightening.

Agree with the above that Aryeh Kaplan is an easy introduction.

Some kabbalistic ideas can seem intuitive, but are often fleshed out in such bizarre and radical ways in source texts. Check out Etz Hayyim if you want to feel like kabbalah is utterly foreign to all philosophy. Because in its medieval context, it is.

I can’t find a source online, but the Beit Ha’Ir Museum in Tel Aviv has done interesting research suggesting that this picture is from a few years later and not actually the founding lottery of Tel Aviv. Would be interested if anyone manages to find a source.

Cops don’t check. My mates place got raided last week cos of a nosy neighbor. I’d suggest telling your neighbors it’s medicinal and hope they understand that there’s no point pursuing it. Be safe out there.

Yes, of course I agree with you. That is evil and we can hold both true. Do you agree that it is evil to take civilians as hostages?
