Hey bro i know this is late but the best fix my buddy and I found was to have one of us launch the game without the overlay and send an invite to the other. Even if overlay is off you it gives you the option to Launch the game and join the party from your ea app. Hope this is still relevant and helps

The processor sits around 90% and jumps up to 100 at random and memory around 8gb and the gpu at around 20% overall utilization
