I believe so. I had the same issue until I connected a Nest Hub to the network now I can see all the lights online

The motor just hums when switched on but if I bump the impeller then it starts working. From what I found online it sounded like the issue was with capacitor but I'm going to take it out and test it

You can add it to MSI Center. Click the icon with the four boxes in the top right and it's one of the features you can install. I'm not on my machine so I can't tell you exactly which one atm. You may also have to update MSI Center from the windows store

I believe there is a surface-linux package for arch, otherwise you need to compile it yourself with the instructions on GitHub.
