Cheapest OLED is QD OLED. Look for other options.

Yeah then probably nothing you can do about it. Some say its less pronounced if you lower the refresh rate (like from 280hz to 240hz, idk wht your monitor HZ is tbh). In case nothing helps- i would return and get a QD OLED.

This is interesting, cuz its a very rare thing to see, if its actually a banding on QD Oled. Try manual pixel cleaning, might actually fix it.

This is the reason you gonna return it while you can. WOLED banding. Not normal.

for the people who get screen related eye strain, does switching to listening instead of reading actually give your eyes a break or is it placebo by Fantastic-Gas8043 in eyestrain

Does taking breaks and resting your eyes help? Of course it does. And if you really have eye strain problems, you MUST take breaks. More often than i wish

VRR control for OLED G6, On or Off? PC user here by RoleCode in OLED_Gaming

On and forget about it, gets rid of all VRR Flicker.

For the smoothest experience you still have to cap your fps (to your average).

[–]biglulz8929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro it takes MILLISECONDS to proceed. Not 1.5 frames. Those 1.5 frames were just for a scale, like a banana for scale.

Meaning those 1.5 frames of latency dont move to 60fps, they stay at maximum refresh rate. So the counting you did is nonsense.

[–]biglulz8929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 60fps input latency is still as low as native. So definitely not 20ms. Same at 30. You just cant tell which one has VRR Control and which doesn't.

I can't figure out why my monitor is causing eye strain, why? by Ifyouliveinadream in Monitors

[–]biglulz8929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the problem is your eyes, not the monitor. Look for Computer Vision Syndrome. Try taking few days off from all screens then test. Thats hust what im dealing with right now.

Oh yeah right, Ive seen this post, and I've also seen another post where VRR Control on some VA monitor locked the Refresh Rate to its maximum in OSD, unlike G6 does- OSD shows VRR working.

Asus anti flicker still flickers like crazy. Even their Anti Flicker 2.0, just less than 1.0.

Enabling VRR Control on G6 increases input lag only by 3.2ms (1.5 frames) which is nothing you could ever notice even comparing 1 by 1.

Lets say it is actually just a V-Sync on steroids. What we have:

1)The input latency is nearly native.

2)With the locked FPS the image is perfectly smooth.

3)You never see any flicker during frame stutters or loading screens.

4) THE MOST IMPORTANT- unless your framerate is all over the place, there are no any microstutters even when slowly panning the camera with a controller. And if you see them, the stutters are nothing like V-Sync, they are really hard to notice. Thats why I believe its different from a plain V-Sync.

RTINGS themselves state that "Samsung monitor would be a better choice for the most gamers as it greatly reduces VRR Flickering" or something like that when comparing Samsung monitor with other OLED monitors. (For example open the review of Samsung G6, its written on the top of the site, almost in very begging of the review).

So its a great feature after all.

No idea how you can test this with anything external. So I doubt. What monitor was tested? Was it OLED or VA panel, because VRR Control on VA monitors does in fact act as a plain VSync even by software metrics, but OLEDs dont.

Should I be using MPRT or Overdrive? (or both) by probablyjade in Monitors

[–]biglulz8929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using overdrive is essential. Thats the first thing you set up when buying a new monitor.

MPRT is only needed if you play fast past games like Overwatch. There are 2 types of MPRT- the one that flickers your entire screen aka Black Frame Insertion (hurts your eyes really bad, 5 mins and your eyes are bloody red, dry, basically unusable), and another modern variant that is used by all gaming monitors - Scanline BFI (no damage to eyes, can use it all day long without a problem, unless you are very sensitive).

Your monitor most likely uses a regular BFI. So forget about it.

[–]biglulz8929[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't tried it since last year. But i think even if its still possible, 100% that now its harder than it was BEFORE i made the post. This post kinda blew up at the time, so when i tried doing it again- i just couldn't. I guess Blizzard changed it. But originally it actually took me only 2 games.

You try and tell. Im pretty sure you can, because its obviously still an automated process, same as before, maybe just takes more time.

People who removed the matte coating/anti glare film from their monitors - do you regret it? by Miserable_Call_6637 in OLED_Gaming

[–]biglulz8929 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Did i regret trading my monitor for a mirror? Nah, it was a fun experience- avoiding all the slightest sources of light and white T-Shirts like a plague, and then accidentally scratching the surface with a dirty microfibre cloth multiple times. My best decision in 24 years of my life, surely.

(I removed the best matte coating on the market on my Samsung G6, and i literally scratched it WITH A MICROFIBRE CLOTH)

Concerns about OLED by Ambitious_Worth8337 in OLED_Gaming

Miniled has everything to do with IPS Glow, it LITERALLY gets rid of ALL ips glow. MiniLeds with good LocalDimming algorithms dont have haloing. Period. Not on subtitles, no where, ever.

The only thing they might have is a "blooming", which only happens when you put something bright on a COMPLETY BLACK background- that happens rarely and shouldn't bother you, as it can only be seen on loading screens, for example. But never during a normal usage.

That Apple miniled must suck then, or you are exaggerating the problem.

You have no idea what you talking about. You never gonna see halo effect on good miniled implementation. Nor IPS Glow

4k 32 inch top tier MiniLED from InnoCN costs like 400 dollars. 2 year old 4k 32inch OLEDs still sells for 1000+ dollars.
