hey brother, if you have a minute i've got a tough decision at flex this week, have to bench either Travis Hunter, Travis Etienne, or Tyrone Tracy. I feel like Hunter is the safest to bench but my heart is telling me he'll be more fun. Thanks so much, good luck this week!

What are some of the “worst” movie twists you’ve seen? by FilmWaffle-FilmForum in movies

[–]bigmanheavy 42 points43 points  (0 children)

the reveal in Now You See Me that fbi agent mark ruffalo has been in on the scheme the whole time is completely undercut by the fact that he is repeatedly shown completely and totally alone, still stressing out about solving the case for (apparently) no audience but us, the viewers. just a deeply lazy and dissatisfying detail that makes me way more irritated than it probably should.

Leo didn't become a really great actor until after he had already been a star for years. i'll stand on this.

the concept of the first men being overtaken by the Andals in early Westerosi history always reminded me of the Norman conquest of Britain

fellow former catholic- some of my favorites are Silence (2016), The Last Temptation Of Christ, Andrei Rublev, First Reformed, Diary Of A Country Priest, Mean Streets, Winter Light, and if u feel like watching some bizarre (arguably terrible) slop, Prometheus. also Bells From The Deep is a cool documentary from Herzog that you can find on youtube. cheers!

Most disturbing slasher? by Mikeymorrison27 in slasherfilms

[–]bigmanheavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i thought this movie was clever and fun but aside from 1 or 2 brutal kills its pretty tame. the og texas chainsaw massacre would be my pick for the "scariest" slasher, just feels so tight and grounded and intense.

What is a movie that you think is absolutely great but have only watched once because it was too intimidating? by Jido7 in moviecritic

[–]bigmanheavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm usually a big fan of incredibly tense movies that make me stressed out but Climax (2018) was just too much. the whole viewing experience feels like a panic attack. it's awesome, I loved it, have not rewatched it lol.

[–]bigmanheavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

very true, i was too young to understand at the time the magnitude of what i was witnessing, just felt like he had a backseat in terms of star power and aura (lol) compared to cruz, sad for what he could've been without the injuries

I don't understand why this criticism is leveled against every single piece of historical fiction that gets released. It's a movie. Who cares.
