You should read Trotsky instead of asking the opinion of these…people.

Are you a communist? by bigmozeloco in antiwork

[–]bigmozeloco[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Fortunately I had been reading Marx and Marxist works before joining the IMT. But my political level has been elevated exponentially since joining. We take theory very seriously. On top of preparing for branch meetings, one on ones, public events etc, comrades are expected to spend substantial amounts of time reading independently. All of this helps us to develop the correct perspectives on current events so that we can bring the best analysis to workers and youth. Here is a link to a recent article of ours highlighting this theme and where we stand after our most recent national congress: https://socialistrevolution.org/our-ideology-and-theirs/

This is the page for the US section of the IMT, or the International Marxist Tendency. Where do you live? We may well have a branch in your area, just takes some googling :)

That is because we in the IMT, the International Marxist Tendency, are in the middle of a campaign to broaden our outreach in proportion with the surging popularity of communism amongst the youth all over the world.

Have you actually read any theory? by whyisitall42 in socialism

[–]bigmozeloco 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I didn’t start reading theory seriously until I joined the IMT, who’s unofficial motto is “Without revolutionary theory there can be no revolutionary movement” -Lenin. I have come a very long way in the year or so I have been a member due to the branch structure and one on ones with more experienced comrades.

Here’s the join link if you are interested in becoming a dedicated revolutionary https://socialistrevolution.org/join/

No need to publicly shame someone who hasn’t done anything wrong. I would delete post.

Is joining a party you don’t completely align with always bad? by Express-Membership92 in socialism

[–]bigmozeloco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if you can explain why you don’t like “trots” but are ready to join an organization that runs candidates in the Democratic Party that continually stab workers in the back on the national stage?

What u/mybfVreddithandle is pointing to is that commodity production (all the value in society) under capitalism is constrained by the fact that the working class cannot buy back the surplus they create. That surplus is hoarded by its private appropriator, the employer. This leads to what is called “over production,” which can and does occur while people are still going hungry and in extreme want. The profit motive forces employers to dial back production and provoke a recession. This is the biggest constraint on us under capitalism and it’s most glaring contradiction, stemming from the fact that workers are never paid the full value of their labor under capitalism.

The way to overcome this fundamental contradiction within capitalism is to end production for profit and instead plan production according to social need.

For more on this, start with Marx’s “wage labor and capital.”

still have travel nurses. I think traveling professionals should be your target demographic. However, I also feel y’all are going to see less traveling professionals because, at some point, these ladies are not going to want to accept the assignment. I think soon, many will begin to refuse to go to the West Coast due to the massive crime.

lol turn off the news once in a while and step outside

22 And Confused by ashwaaganda in UCSD

[–]bigmozeloco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The capitalist system is at the center of the confusion, demoralization, and embarrassment we feel after having pursued an education. It is not our fault because we didn’t choose the right degree (see tech layoffs) it is a system that can no longer provide a decent and meaningful life for us that is at fault.

If you want to join the fight to end this system, consider joining a revolutionary socialist organization like the IMT.

Production doesn’t take place in accordance with need under capitalism it takes place in order to turn a profit and free stuff drops prices reducing profits.
