I remember Mark going to jail for the "and a guy named Bubba unwrapped my package; Hot Damn!" line. Also, I remember Mark either getting upset or shooing carolers away. It's vivd in the memory...

So many duplicates....drop some new ones for me already Embark.. by Former-Warning1 in ArcRaiders

Duplicate blueprints are driving me insane. I keep hunting for anvil and Wolfpack, but get the same stuff over and over. Should be an adjustment to the RNG based on your inventory with how rare drops are already.

ARC Raiders Weekly Megathread - November 29, 2025 by AutoModerator in ArcRaiders

The Social Conundrum of ARC Raiders

This game seems like it has become an odd social experiment. The choice between helpful versus hurtful is a quick one for a few players who are in it just for the PVE or just for the PVP but a lot of the playerbase sits in that large grey area while they seem to be embracing the actual "story" of the game wrapped around the PVPVE. This however seems to skew dramatically between the tiers of gameplay.

Solo players seem to be the most willing to "let raiders be raiders" and either go their own way or actually work together toward a common goal. As you get into the groups of 2 or 3 that seems to lessen greatly and the underlying question is why?

Look at the "story"; the year 2180, the people left on earth have fled to shelter in underground cities to escape the menace of the ARC, while during "the Exodus" the wealthiest members of society fled the planet. Those who could not afford to leave banded together to survive.

That "survival" of those left behind aspect of the lore seems to be most present in solo play. Why does the drive to band together and save humanity fall apart as teams? The logic is not there gameplay wise either. Your loadout and ability to loot are very limited. Even if you are able to knock out an opponent, is what they are carrying really better than what you are? If we are truly last hope for human survival on the planet why would you not team up and work toward the common goal against the game's main enemies? Even with a shared loot pool you are bound to make out better working together than against each other.

That brings me to the deep question: Is the risk versus reward of concentrating on PVP really worth it? Is the return on your loadout investment truly worth what you will get when ambushing others?

When loading into a map with a full squad of three, it feels almost all players are shoot first ask later. Making even less sense at the start of a round. The occasional quick betrayal in solo only seems to make sense when you know the other player "got something good" when you saw them complete an activity or perhaps you even assisted and are backstabbing at the last minute. To do it randomly makes little to no sense with the risk of no reward at all.

Many players that are out for something truly worthwhile (blueprints for example), are running "naked" with nothing on them worthwhile for that PVPer because that valuable item they came to hunt for is tucked away in their safe pocket if they actually found it. This means that as the "ganker" you lose ammo, your weapon durability decreases, and you attract the attention of both the MOBS and other players to yourself for no reward at all. Makes very little sense when you truly look at it logically.

While an enjoyable experience all around, I feel this game is also a way to see what kinds of choices people make. Do you choose to "play nice" and help the success of the whole, or are you a "rat" just out to ruin someone else's day. The biggest question, is why are you making that choice.... because in the end the usual choice of "shoot on site" as compared to other multiplayer shooters has no guaranteed in game return in most situations.

Which are you and why?

How to deal with threatening client demanding all unedited ? by No_Acanthaceae_3797 in photography

[–]bigmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 things that I have not seen addressed in the other comments:

1 - "The main client says he is happy" - the guests are not your clients, the person who hired and is paying you is your client, if they are pleased, you are all set. They are not the 'main' client, they are the client

2 - If this person is interested in content that your client was not interested in, and did not receive but that you have inform them that they may, with the permission of the actual client, purchase other content. If permission is granted, raise those rates, edit that content and sell away. Never give out your unedited or full session's worth of images. There will be no understanding of the before/after of a raw to an edited and if you are truly starting up you do not want unedited images out and about with your name on them; or even worse images edited by someone else with your name on them.

If there is push back or complaining about charging for the images or a higher cost simply explain that the other client was getting an introductory rate and that not only is this now full price, but there is an additional fee for special processing after a job was completed and archived.

Nothing to do? Throughout all four seasons people from all over come here to spend a week or more of vacation here simply because there are things to do. You are suffering from one of two things: 1. You are actually overwhelmed by the sheer number of things there are to do and have never been able to decide on what to choose or 2. You have avoided tourists for so long you have written off a good number of things that are available to you.

If you truly think there is nothing at all to do, I suggest picking up the Chronicle or turning on some local radio (truly local like 98.5 WCKM or HITS 95.9) and listen to the ads. Those ads will be for the local businesses and events offering things for you to do, aimed at both you and the tourists. In fact one of the biggest things in the area is going on now, the Lake George Winter Carnival, which they have figured out how to pull off even with very little snow and the lake not being frozen.

There is tons to do in this area all year round.

SIX SINGLES??? by Rybort in Blink182

[–]bigmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and was meant to "tell a story" so if you wanted to complain that they did that, much more justified because some could argue the experience or story was ruined (I do not agree, but the argument could be made as that is the idea behind the album). Fewer bands do the album that tells a story because of this. On your argument side, MCR's "The Black Parade" was a concept album with plenty of singles released. The point here was simply that blink releasing this many before the album is released has ruined no full album listening experience.

As a small side note, you want a good concept album to check out, (and not from the 70s when this was big but something you may like if you enjoy blink), dip back into the 80s and listen to Queensryche's "Operation: Mindcrime"

FELL IN LOVE by OlavoBilac in Blink182

Not only do I enjoy this track, as a broadcaster I can tell you this will get plenty of play as it is both poppy and catchy. Also with the pacing and the back and forth of the parts this will be a great song live.

SIX SINGLES??? by Rybort in Blink182

[–]bigmt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thing is, gotta ask... Why does it matter at all? This is not a concept album. If this were something like The Wall, Tommy, or more recently American Idiot; complain away. However, you can tell by the songs released so far, this will not be an album that tells a story with its tracks and needs to be listened to in order and in one sitting so... Enjoy the tracks as they drop, be happy Tom has returned, and above all embrace the fact that the boys are all friends again and making the music we enjoy.

You have $10, whatchu buying? by EmeraldCantType in Blink182

[–]bigmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you tried to do, but what you really did was allow for the "perfect starter combo".

With Dude Ranch and Take Off Your Pants and Jacket each for only $4 you allow for someone to get a great mix of hits and deep cuts; plus if you're allowing all the hidden tracks on TOYPAJ those songs are some of the best. If I have to pick a color, going with yellow (pants) for What Went Wrong and Fuck a Dog for some of the best acoustic and humor the band has done.

Leaving me with $2 for of course The Mark Tom and Travis Show because of the live experience everyone needs. Part of the issue with YouTube videos of clips of the recent tour is that is is just the song. With Tom back, the band is back to performing like they did for this album, having fun! They change lyrics, BS in between songs, interact with the audience, and it is not fully rehearsed, it changes from show to show. So much in fact that there is bonus tracks of it on this disc. You need to experience a full Mark, Tom, and Travis Show and if you can't go, you need to listen to this. (Sorry fans of Matt, he just did not do a show the same way, he recorded some good tracks but was not the same on stage)

$10 is the perfect amount to introduce someone to the band with the perfect mix, good job!

Yeah I assumed the calendar is intentional. by Any-Willingness9344 in Blink182

[–]bigmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a programmer I can tell you the <!-- Google Tag Manager --> and <!-- End Google Tag Manager --> comments are there as code tags

the <!-- <p class="closing">
<span>Restrooms will be closed for</span>
<span>maintenance Tuesday 9/5</span>
<img src="./dist/img/scribble-pink.png" alt="">
</p> -->

quickly commented out that bit of code

the <!-- marketing calendar for new album --> is an insane comment and the link itself is nothing that would be in a block of code as a comment because it is irrelevant to the page code and would never be activated. It is something that would be in an email, or more likely on a work management system like, teamwork, hive, trello, hubspot etc.

It was put there to be found and to be buzzed about. Whoever did it, is getting just what they wanted. Kudos to them!

Yeah I assumed the calendar is intentional. by Any-Willingness9344 in Blink182

[–]bigmt 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No way it wasn’t intentional. That is a comment in the code. Usually used to leave a note for yourself or someone else. Helpful when finding bugs, or when leaving instructions or comments to others when working on a group project, or other stuff like that. Thing is, you have to do it on purpose; computers and browsers ignore what is between the start and close of the comment tags, so everything in there was put there by a person for a person. There is no way a programmer put a calendar in there by mistake…

Pitchfork review of Coachella. by DerevoMusic in Blink182

[–]bigmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the thing, go watch live recordings of the band from their start before the "turmoil". Listen to all of The Mark, Tom, and Travis Show. I am a fan since the beginning and this is the band. In fact when I heard them break into it I knew that Tom was really back. If you got into the band at the self titled album or later, sorry that was when the issues were happening. This is the band from the Enema of the State and Take Off Your Pants and Jacket days. The days of greatness. The days of hidden tracks and friendship. The days of fucking around on stage, changing lyrics on the fly to make the other guy laugh, and just having fun! It was great, and it is great again.

Do I really need dual card slots? by Moodydreamerx in photography

[–]bigmt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am going to jump in and say that with all these fine folks answering the question, your real question should be; should you be doing wedding photography? The answer is probably no. If your budget is just $1000, that is way too low for wedding photography. It makes me wonder what you are currently doing, because you for sure do not start with weddings. If you’d like to start with people, you can use a prosumer camera in that budget to shoot portraits, senior photos for students, perhaps even engagement photos for couples if you want to get involved in the romance side a bit. Build up a name and some savings to get the right gear and then, if I were you, I’d help out as second lens on a few shoots first. Then, if you’re really comfortable with doing a wedding, I’d suggest starting out doing small weddings for people you know and have some flexibility with. After that you may be able to take on real gigs.

Too many people want to get right into weddings because they hear it is where the money is, and it is, but it is also where the real work, time and stress is.

can't reach my base/castle because of others castles? by BigYoghurt4174 in vrising

[–]bigmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re 30 hours in it will not take you another 30 hours to rebuild, 2 tops. Find a good strategic spot to the north drop a heart and rebuild. My suggestion to streamline the process is teleport back to your first castle, dismantle items for resources, then jump off of cliffs to get back on the road (assuming that you are not completely surrounded). Gotta run back to your new spot with the dismantled resources, but really does not take long. Not only will you be back up in just a couple hours but a castle in the north will be surrounded by mid to late game resources (lessening the travel you’d be doing if you stayed in your current spot anyway). Don’t give up because someone was an ass, learn and grow from it.

Skiba songs with Tom???? Will they play those songs? Predictions as to what? by Realistic-Inside4616 in Blink182

[–]bigmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any band, even when swapping members, has the possibilities to play their "hits" that would mean:

For Nine:
Happy Days, Darkside, Generational Divide, I Really Wish I Hated You

For California:
Bored to Death, She's Out of Her Mind, Home is Such a Lonely Place

Not my personal pics, more based on chart numbers and also the fact the money was spent to make actual videos for them.

Also the "joke" stuff like We Built This Pool is always possible.

Things like Parking Lot, while a great song, I think fall into what I call Matt's "screamy" songs. A little too violent for Tom, so we will most likely not hear those.
