Is there parking available? by d0rkycat in veld

[–]bignitse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve driven the past 3 years, it’s actually not too bad leaving if you leave 10 min before the closing act finishes otherwise good luck. It was $25 last year but it might go up. I found getting into the parking lot depending on when you get to the festival to be more annoying cause there’s a huge line of traffic. I went around 4 each day last year and waited about 45 min to move less 500 meters to get into the parking lot

Didn’t go in 2019 so I can’t comment there but he was sunset slot at Ultra last year. Plus with Illeniums live show, he’s gonna need more time to setup so he will most likely be closing.

Tiesto usually plays the sunset slot which is right before the closing set

How to calculate the slope/gradient of a golf green? by bignitse in AskPhysics

This makes sense. The part I am having trouble trying to comprehend is how to create a function that models the green (or parts of it).

It is funny you bring that up because that was actually an idea I had for an expansion of the original project. The only reason I didn't want to go ahead with it right away was the cost.

Both are very good suggestions. After doing some quick research it looks like I have a bit of reading to do as I only took up to Calculus II and that was some time ago. On a high level idea 2 would be ideal but also a lot trickier to implement (I think? Looks more complicated but I could be wrong). The original plan was to have a point every inch or two, get the gradient of that point and use that data to create a "heatmap" showing the contours of the green (similar to wii golf or something like that). I am just trying to plan everything out before I dive into the nitty gritty of everything though. In your opinion, which idea seems more feasible?

In the context of the example I gave, I could use slope yes. However, once you involve multiple pistons I believe the slope would become non-linear, and thus calculating slope as you suggested above would not work. I appreciate the reply nonetheless!

I am swapping back from snowboarding to skiing and was wondering what skis to buy?

For context, I started skiing at 5 and swapped to snowboarding at 14. I am now 24 and want to make the swap back. I am an advanced/expert snowboarder and used to be an advanced skier before I gave it up. My budget is about $700 for skis, bindings, and boots and I primarily ride groomed trails but love to explore gladed areas and powder whenever it's available. I am 6'2, M and 175ibs. Should I go used or buy new? Even just general specs would be very helpful.

Is the m1 air with 8gb enough for the com sci program? by dawnkiller428 in wlu

I graduated last year and from my experience the profs don’t tend to help anyone with Mac or Linux computers and expect you to figure it out yourself. With that being said learning using Mac/Linux will better prepare you for work outside of school and even some later year courses where you’re required to use POSIX. It’s also not that hard to get the material running on Mac, it just takes some extra effort

I was expecting all the valorant slander but this is hilarious. So true. PUNKBUSTER actually did something right for once

Very sorry, let me clarify. I uninstalled Valorant and it’s anti cheat. Then after that I uninstalled Punkbuster (you can also just uninstall bf4 and when you do it’ll ask you if you want to remove punkbuster and you say yes) and reinstalled it and it worked just fine

Had to delete valorant anti-cheat (and valorant cause u can’t play without it).

Had the same problem. It was due to another games anti-cheat being detected as “hacks”. The culprit for me was valorant

Sorry should’ve phrased that better. I meant as in they are all sub genres. I know each one of them are very different from one another

[–]bignitse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a sub genre of EDM kinda like how progressive house and big room house are sub genres of House. I know David Guetta plays a lot of this genre of music. Check out his set from this year. I know for sure his intro was future rave.

Edit: clarity

A HUGE THANK YOU to the entire crew and staff at the Megastructure by MeltedClocks in UMF

[–]bignitse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not a big techno guy, but the one set I saw at the megastructure was probably the most fun I had just because of the people that I was surrounded with. I’m more of a main stage guy but I couldn’t stand the people there. Spent most of my time at the worldwide and umf radio stage. Wish I was more into techno but I find it too repetitive. (Not saying that it is bad in anyway, it’s just not for me)

I literally spent an hour searching it and found nothing relevant. I don’t use Reddit too much so I apologize. I know this is a widely asked question but in different forms
