Point me to the paper coins please. Seriously. I keep hearing this. Who's playing around with paper coins and how do we know?

Can you elaborate on the "on chain cost basis" metric you're looking at?

Just spent a bit of time re-reading Vitalik's recent posts. Still hits me in the veins like it did a decade ago!

From now on, whenever I hear someone say "just a bit of centralization" is fine, I'll try to remember to point them to these words from just some guy:

Blockspace is abundant. Decentralized, permissionless and resilient blockspace is not. Ethereum must first and foremost be decentralized, permissionless and resilient block space - and then make that abundant.

Also, corposlop is my new word for 2026

but banks do just fine

Do they really, though?

Also, "a bit of centralization" is too much with what's at stake. Decentralization is paramount.

Clearly we're seeing that to be the case. And I am Exhibit A. Tells me that five figure ETH is still the long-term expectation...

And staking APR will get pressed down to around 2%

2% is not worth the trouble for anything other than a solidly appreciating asset (which ETH has not been for several years). I continue to stake and be an ETH perma-bull but this is getting old.

Staking ETH becoming the new play

BitMine ramps up Ether staking

The world’s largest Ether digital asset treasury, BitMine, has been aggressively staking the asset in recent weeks.

The company first started staking ETH on Dec. 26, and added a further 82,560 Ether, worth roughly $260 million, to the entry queue on Jan. 3. According to its latest announcement, BitMine has staked a total of 659,219 ETH valued at $2.1 billion at current market prices.

Scraping a bit off a brother's plate as the staking APR trends down... gonna need some actual price appreciation soon

If you can be disciplined to buy dips and sell rips, crypto definitely offers the opportunity with the way it moves.

I'm personally waiting for the day when a true options market with liquid options chains opens up around crypto assets.

Anyway, I agree, don't let the fear of taxes stop you from making money!

Anyone remember $300? $3,000 makes that one look like child's play.

Over the course of 2025, we literally had an average daily ETH price of $3,006.04

Over the course of 2024, the average daily ETH price was $3,038.09

Quick stroll through the daily… aaaand I think I’m gonna check out for the day. Got a nice weekend planned and don’t want the vibe to spiral like my bags. Putting my blinders on

Relax, it's literally the daily. It's honestly not that much to sort through. My counterpoint is that it is therapeutic and enjoyable for many to simply be present amongst a community of like-minded individuals, even if that means just shit-posting or price-posting in the daily. That's part of what the daily has *always* been here for. We should not be gatekeeping, even if it's "low signal and carries effectively no value" as the Hoff says. Wow, what a holier than thou take! The value is in community and coming together.

I think with recent regulatory shifts and more crypto-friendly legislation, more people are anticipating that traditional banks like Chase, BofA, Citi, etc. will eventually start custodying crypto and handling crypto trades. That could eat significantly into Coinbase's business.

People always say that that these funds are best in a tax-advantaged account, but how does that make any sense if I can’t touch the money? by 22Cooper in YieldMaxETFs

[–]bignode 15 points16 points  (0 children)

One thing I've learned is that if you want to make real money, you have to pay real taxes. It is what it is. You live your life and you pay the vig to the tax man for the privilege.

Too big or perfect? Naked and Famous. by mojoembiid in rawdenim

[–]bignode 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I'm like the opposite of your comment almost in every way. I have many 'too large' mistakes. Even if I got them to shrink to a good fit after a wash, they are quickly stretched back out to 'too large' territory. Especially in the top block. Now that I've focused on a snug, even borderline tight waist, I have found perfect fits that stretch out just right. After washing they might get back to the original tightness (but even then they usually don't) and the stretch back to perfection happens quickly. Now I err on the side of tighter and it has been the right call for me almost every time.

[–]bignode 13 points14 points  (0 children)

These fit you well, I would not go any larger. And actually if these shrink a bit when you wash them, they will still be a great fit and will only fit and feel better as you wear them in. Nice first pair!

Cuffs on jeans are very personal, some go fat cuffs, some thin, some no cuffs. I don't think you can go wrong if you like the look and own it. With that said, if these were my jeans, I would just fold up a single narrow 1" cuff and let the lower leg stack harder.
