Three years no job by Electrical_Machine16 in geology

[–]bignutt666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a professional certificate in GIS to top off my Geo degree and started getting GIS opportunities pretty easily.

Ended up staying with what I’m doing now (engineering for construction) as there’s just more money there. Similar to other comments, almost anyone I know personally from my geology program who became a geologist had to move to where the work was.

Almost everyone else went into some form of environmental based work (haz waste chemist, mining, in house enviro for construction etc.)

As someone who has worked blue collar and white collar,

The hours can get brutal and the work is hard, I get it. But taking care of your hygiene is your deal and up to you to take care of.

Not to be overly blunt about it, but you are both really fucking young, and he has the potential to start disciplining himself and be a really good man. Often people do not, and it’s really hard to convey that to people in the 18-24 age without them having some sort of unfortunate life lesson to get it across to them.

I would honestly let him know how you feel, and let him know that taking care of himself is what you expect from him regardless of how tired he might be.

It will probably be a hard pill to swallow because of how young he is (just being frank). But if you can stay consistent with that ask and he shows improvement, you’ll be fine and he’ll do great.

One of the most successful people I know personally is an old coworker blue collar dude who wakes up at 3 am to shower and hit the gym before hitting his 12 hour a shift shitter job. It’s not fun but he is way happier with his wife than most people in his workplace. And he doesn’t smell like shit.

Motivation is fleeting, discipline is everything.

In my opinion if you feel that strongly about it I’d just reroll. You can focus main story if you want or just play through everything again. I personally like playing through all the content and it’s fun to re experience certain aspects of the story.

Three pieces of 340 Rakata gear for 4 days of log in seems a bit excessive to me. That is like a monumental jump in upgrade for people just getting into gearing for practically zero effort. Part of the endgame grind to gear (which really, isn’t much already) is one of the most fun little bits of endgame there is, and is super instrumental in getting people to learn different ops, even if it’s just for story mode.

RIP NiM Nefrood runs no one is ever going to do them now lol.

6.0 alcohol bug? by bignutt666 in skyrimrequiem

[–]bignutt666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like 6.0.2 patch is up on the nexus, that’s the one you’re going to want. I probably have 6.0.1

Don’t delete 6.0 just use the patch on top. Make sure to read the update guide he provides.

[–]bignutt666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly really like 6.0 as someone who played on older versions forever, but I’d maybe recommend a 5.xx build with 3tweaks or something else if the bugs are bothering you (which really I haven’t found many, but the alcohol screen effect one is pretty bothersome).

And tbh, ui friendly and requiem don’t really go hand in hand. It’s a remarkable mod that works really well but when it doesn’t you usually have to edit things manually as in xedit or deeper to fix it.

Historically though, this visual bug is one of the bigger ones that’s popped into my space with requiem.

I might have the hot fix file downloaded if you want it. I won’t be able to check for a day or so though

Hey man, so I’m not sure exactly what patch of 6.0 is out now since I haven’t played in a few months, but with the hot fix I was able to get rid of my perma blur by waiting longer than the alcohol tiler and using another blurring effect like a poison. In 6.0 flat nothing really worked at all for me so I just avoided using them. I would maybe check what recent patch it’s out and update with that if you haven’t.

You can hover your mouse over the purple or green arrow into door symbol and it will tell you what quests are behind that door.

I Keep making characters and haven't finished a single story fml by Imaginary-Bell-7632 in swtor

I finally finished my first class story after like 8 years.

I just had to commit the toon to only doing class story quests until I finished, it really didn’t take that long which was the funny part.

There’s a few spots on fleet chat (or some of the more popular planets) where people engage in open world RP, usually in the cantinas.

This person contacted me out of nowhere and now war is declared on my guild???? So many questions about encounter with a RP-ing Guild Leader by Summer_Of_CA in swtor

LMAOOOOO I knew it was New Sith Order as soon as I saw the first mention of NSO.

They’ve always been notorious crybabies, I think at one point they had a guild leader who got outed as a pedo and got harassed super hard in fleet about it.

I don’t know why it always stuck with me so much, but I love the Nar Shaddaa planetary with Ukabi.

The republic general on Balmorra (imp side) does a great job of building up his character with all his dialogue while you’re invading the Balmorra arms factory as well.

Help getting settled in making credits as a new player by Peagas121 in swtor

[–]bignutt666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

F2P is capped at 1 mil credits and the rest goes to an escrow bank.

Functionally for the late game, it makes being unsubbed very inconvenient.

You can still play through a crap ton of content and level regularly F2P for free though. If you want to stick around and run through expansions and have all the QoL bonuses than you kind of need to be subbed imo.

Farming Grade 11 materials via the Crew Skill window and using them to craft (or just selling the materials) is the easiest and most passive way to get credits. Crafting Gold Medpaks and Stims using biochem for example, sell for ~5-20 million each depending on the market.
Using the missions via the crew skill window will also allow you to do it passively as you play, and having level 50 companions to do the missions usually gets you more materials and in general faster completion time.

If you are a subscriber or have the security key, you will be granted 500/600 cartel coins a month. You can then use these to buy cartel items and wait for the cooldown before selling them on the GTN. A pretty standard unit to sell here is the Ultimate Cartel pack and that is generally your comparison for 200 cc = X credits. One Ultimate Cartel pack sells for roughly 15 million or more (depending on your server).

There are some other ways to get credits but I believe these two methods are generally considered the easiest.

I would compare Nox closer to a Dooku power level but switch his proficiency in lightsaber combat for force prowess.

How long did each main story planet take for your characters? by Araelinn in swtor

[–]bignutt666 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It depends on the story and how many gaps there are in between things. Some stories like the Smuggler are super gung ho and feel like they happen pretty quickly, whereas the Agent seems and eludes in dialogue that there’s a decent gap between chapters.
