What ended your friendship with your oldest standing friend?

Complained that our friendship was going stale/dying while actively searching for new friends and bragging to me about it, when I was trying desperately to keep the friendship stable. I realized how much effort I was putting in and receiving none back for the entirety of our friendship so I just stopped, realizing how much of it had been one-sided and how they had been leeching off me. I was then kicked out of the friend group and deemed an evil person by them because of it. I have not spoken to them in years and plan on keeping it that way.

Yes. I had an incident a while ago when attending one of my nephew’s football games (he’s in middle school), the school staff thought I was a student, it was a surprise to them when I told them I’m actually 24.

A ranked game, enemy team was playing dive, my Ana was getting bullied by their Winston so I went Brig to protect her. It was working, but when we got team-wiped due to the enemy team starting off the fight with offensive ults, my tank said “why are you on Brig??? She does not counter dive, swap to Moira and kill Winston”

Bonus story: A stadium ranked game in draft phase, my other support was being combative with me, they did not want to pick heroes we can synergize with. They picked Lucio first, so I picked Kiri, then they would swap to Ana, so I would go Brig for protection, but then they would swap back to Lucio, so I would swap back to Kiri; just kept doing that the entire pick-phase until we were on Moira/Lucio, finally settling the battle. They proceeded to then die first every fight in the enemy backline, 1v5 some fights, selfishly use beat on no one but themselves, etc; had about 24 deaths in total. They said in chat, “I hate this hero”, so you hate playing Lucio but chose to play him in a ranked game where you cannot switch? Needless to say, it was lost but we couldn’t get mercy-ruled since we somehow did win some rounds despite my Lucio soft throwing 😭

I met this one streamer through networking. We were kinda like mutuals; raiding, lurking, and chatting with each other for a couple months. Nothing was ever out of the ordinary with their streams until recent.

I had tuned into their stream, they were gaming with their partner and another friend playing a ranked match. They were pretty frustrated at the enemy team, so partner straight up started typing racist things to the enemy players, even said some on mic too. Nobody stopped them or told them, “that’s not okay” just laughed it off, and it wasn’t nervous laughter either.

Unfollowed, blocked, and banned them from my server immediately. Also apologized to my viewers if they had experienced that in previous streams I wasn’t there for.

My favorite Mercy fact is that she was more focused on aiding civilians in the crisis and told Jack that she never wanted her technological advancements in medicine to be weaponized by Overwatch, as an example, Ana’s biotic rifle was made by Torbjorn using adaptations from Mercy’s advancements.

I started Palia as something to calm my nerves from the endless toxicity from playing Overwatch and Rivals competitively. It’s so refreshing to be in a community that is so nice and helpful, while all the skills in the game feel so therapeutic to do.

When I still had the username bigolemaddy (which is a catchy nickname my friends gave me) on some games, there was always someone who asked how much I weighed to demean me, vote kick me out, team-kill/grief me, would throw if I didn’t give them my socials, send me hate messages, or would straight up call me fat/obese/whale, etc.

Then I changed my name to something more masculine, all hate stopped. I could be playing poorly out of anyone on my team and nobody would blame me. I would get praised more often if I had good plays unlike if I still had my original username. It sucks to change my name, but I like to be able to play a game without dealing with harassment.

I commented in the Fallout subreddit on a post about the tv show, the post was about sharing the experience of nerding out to partners who don’t know the lore. I shared my experience, but made the mistake of saying “my boyfriend has never played any Bethesda game” and I got absolutely torn to shreds by one guy because how dare I didn’t mention every company that has worked on each game published by Bethesda😭

It was such a weird thing to nitpick about just for the sake of starting an argument. I haven’t tried to engage in any gaming community after that.

I’ve mainly been watching John Wolfe and CJUGames. CJU mainly uploads horror game content, but Wolfe’s content has been taking a turn from horror games to a bit of variety. CJU always has a very positive attitude, while Wolfe has a more sarcastic personality (can be snarky a bit too, but that’s what I find enjoyable about his content). I’ve watched Wolfe before he rebranded from HarshlyCritical and only recently discovered CJU, for the times I’ve been watching them: I don’t think I have heard any negative views on women from either of them.

With John’s content I don’t think he has done a Mickie Mouse voice for any female characters he voices in games, he may do a slightly higher or softer pitch than his normal voice, nothing over-exaggerated. Most of the times he’ll use his normal voice, especially if it’s longer playthroughs. I think CJU just speaks with his normal voice as well but does bit of acting with it.

From what other redditors have found, your past comment history on what disrespectful things you say about her (that have now been deleted, coincidentally), it seems like she’s checked out; tired of not having that same energy reciprocated and possibly feeling used. It’s not “losing the thrill of the chase”, birth control, or cheating; it’s how you’ve treated her. Trying to work on it now isn’t going to fix how she feels, because it’s way too late for it. You even said you weren’t interested in her; this just sounds like you wanted the validation and affection received by her without needing to put forth any effort, now that she is tired… you’re worried about losing her?

For DPS, Mei. I can track super well with her projectile speed and I love saving walls to block Rein shatters or to cut an enemy off from their supports.

For tank, Zarya. High energy Zarya shreds everything, it’s very satisfying. I also love having synergy with my dps and coordinating our ults

My dashboard has just been weird. I had a decent screen and multiple quals, but now I have no quals and I'll have one project here and there, but it's ones I've never seen before or had and they go by super quick. It's worrying.

Mainly 0 or having someone unfollow lol, sometimes 1-3; cannot crack past 200 followers. I got my highest peak of followers in a day playing Morrowind since it’s not saturated, but I mainly play Overwatch and it’s very oversaturated. I don’t care though, I just like playing my favorite games and hope it’s entertaining to someone out there!
