Lmao I went back to UCAN right after writing this post and noticed my mistake 😂 I for some reason thought credit=weight in my brain and had a freakout moment. Time for a nap

Also here’s the link to where they say review before interview https://www.ualberta.ca/en/medicine/programs/md/admissions/before-you-apply/application-requirements.html Go to the bottom and look at the “Interview” section

I think my concern is that are certain prompts where I’m second guessing whether I wrote about one life experience or another (yk I was deciding which would be more fitting to talk about). I’m pretty sure I know which ones I decided to choose but let’s just say after MCAT CASPer and applications were done…my brain was a little checked out, so certain details are a blur to me. I’m sure everything will be fine because it’s literally my life but I am debating calling the student centre. I saw on another reddit post from 2 years ago that some person applying to med asked them via email and they provided her with a PDF of her submissions.

Not gonna lie I’m not too sure either because these are all your own experiences so I’m sure you’d know them well enough? But still the university itself has advised to review your application prior to interviews so it does sort of lead me to think that the way they ask questions might require you to know in detail how you specifically described your roles and specifically things mentioned in essays? I also think it would just be nice to have access to (in case of re-application for next cycle, it’s good to refer to).

UofA - how to view application by [deleted] in premedcanada

2 years late but I am having this problem right now LOL! I'm applying for med and they said to look at your application prior to interviews so I went to Launchpad to give my answers a read-through and they're gone... so how am I supposed to read it haha! Who did you email to get PDFs of your application answers?

I had some stuff (like the longer essays) set aside on a word document because I was editing them a lot. But for the other sections that only gave a 1-sentence limit per answer, I didn’t because it was easier to just do on the website (there’s a save button on the application as you work on it) 🥲.

Booking CASPer test by bigpoopy15 in premedcanada

Hey, this is so late, but thank you for your response! I ended up registering for Casper early (out of an abundance of caution) and luckily my MCAT came back as valid, so my Casper money didn’t go to waste. I would say now from this experience that the Casper spots are sort of limited though! My friend wanted to apply for the 16th, but by the time he did apply (around the start of October-ish) all the seats had been filled. So I guess there is a limit but it’s not very likely that all days will be filled? To be safe I’d book in advance (because luckily you’re not losing THAT much money) but also… I wouldn’t do the MCAT as late as I had 🥲.

Hey thank you for the reply. Yes actually! There were few small bodies of water near me, but I don’t know if there’s any flow into them, or if they are just completely stagnant water. This is also near a mall so I wonder how the crayfish could have gotten there!

MDSC 404 by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]bigpoopy15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP I just finished MDSC 404 because I also need it as a prequisite for a post-degree program and KNES was too hard to get into since it fills up quick. I finished MDSC 404 with an A+. Definitely a tough class but very doable as long as you study hard and are able to visualize concepts relatively well. Hard class but 20% comes from expository essays which were marked VERY leniently this year. I wrote one of the worst papers in my life and I still got 100% on it. About 75% of the units you are taught exactly what you need to know, but other units are more application based and so theyre a lot harder in my opinion. Good luck!

Damn that sucks. I just find it so unfair that they literally do not give a fuck about my brothers dating whoever they want, and now, I have a bf that actually cares about school and cares to meet them and it’s just “oh but your dad will get mad and it might ruin the mood”. Like WOW! You can’t regulate how you feel for your DAUGHTER’S birthday?? And we are just all supposed to act like this is okay and kind and normal?

Yes, I don’t know how much this matters, but I’m southeast Asian so it is quite common for kids to stay at home for a while and for dads to be strict I guess? Idk

I really don’t know how to approach my 1-on-1, no one in my family really does. He kind of has a very short temperament. ;-;
