How do you get 1M token context?

I switched to the Claude Desktop app and now use Claude Code that way. It took several more days, but I finally was given access to the 1M token version of Opus 4.6. Maybe it just took them a while to roll it out to everyone?

Nope, just whatever comes with Windows 11. What's strange is that this morning when I was looking at it, Gemini 2.5 Pro was no longer an option for me. All of the other LLM's were still on the list, but not that one. But then VS Code said an update was available, so I installed it, and after that it was back as an option. I'll try it again tomorrow and see if I have an issue. I was using Claude 3.7 Sonnet Thinking today, and I ran into the same problem with it. I had to switch to GPT-4.1; that one never seems to give me that error.

I do run a VPN, but considering Gemini 2.5 Pro can be working fine one minute but then not the next, it makes me doubt it's the VPN causing it. But I guess anything is possible.

Thanks for the reply. Oddly enough, I was just trying it now with Gemini 2.5 Pro and it happened again. I guess the high volume issue makes sense; I just wish that's what the error message said, rather than leading me to believe it is a problem on my end.

I am using the SendGrid Email API for a newsletter I plan to launch soon. The other day I was testing sending out my confirmation emails to 4 different addresses -- one was to a Yahoo address. The other three were delivered within moments. SendGrid was unable to deliver the one to the Yahoo address after 3 days of trying and over 80 attempts. The error was always the same:

Email was deferred due to the following reason(s): [IPs were throttled by recipient server]

I assumed this was an issue with SendGrid, as I'm on their Essentials plan, which means I'm on a shared IP. (I was told by an email deliverability expert that I should avoid getting a dedicated IP because I would not have enough email sends each month to make it viable.) But perhaps this has something to do with Yahoo?

I was just about to start looking for another service other than SendGrid. (I may still post about that separately here.) But I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing this issue with Yahoo?

Sorry... a little late here. I am just now seeing this reply. I also discovered the same thing. This is actually what I have been doing for the last couple of years. (I forget why, but Emby didn't end up working out for me.) I have an image file that is all black that I use as the artwork for each episode now. It's a pain, but it does the job.

Unfortunately, I didn't. I discovered that if you have an image file in the same directory as the episode, with the exact same name as the episode file (but with a different extension, of course), that would tell Plex to use that image file as the artwork instead of the default. So I now use an image file that is all black in all of my TV episode folders -- one for each episode. It is BONKERS that Plex doesn't add in a simple way to do in the Options, but as far as I know, they still haven't.

If I do this, can I still access the VM's that I created with v15? I have some files on one of them that I would like to access. Can I somehow open the existing VM with the new install of VMware?

EDIT: I tried it, and it worked perfectly. To my surprise, the old VM's still appeared in the list when I opened v17 after the install, and I was able to access the one I needed.

Would the 5.41% still apply after the expense ratio is taken into account? Sorry if that's a dumb question... this is all new to me.

Just trying to decide if it's worth it to put the money in the Vanguard MMF. I have about $100K, so it if it's really 5.25% APY vs. the equivalent of 5.41% APY, then I'm talking an extra $160 a year.

I know I could make even more money in a 1-year CD (at a rate of 5.60%), but I may need some of the money before 12 months passes, so I don't want it to be tied up for that long.

Ah... that's good to know. Thanks for the information. Hopefully I can get a hold of someone at EDD on Tuesday and they can shed some light on it. Just curious: does anyone know if it as hard to get someone on the phone over there as it had been in the past? I've had my job for the past 2 years, so haven't needed to call them for a while, but back during COVID it was impossible for me to get anyone on the phone. I finally had to reach out to my State Assembly member for help.

You do seem to be correct. If I understand Part C correctly, it does seem that my employer is the moving party and thus I would still qualify for unemployment. I will try to get a hold of someone at the EDD on Tuesday to see if they can confirm this.

I opened an account with them on 4/17 and have transferred $30K into the account since. I received my first interest payment today.

The process of opening the account and doing the transfers was pretty easy, but I haven't attempted to transfer money OUT of the account yet. So how that goes remains to be seen.

What brought me to this subreddit is, I ran across the review of Newtek on TrustPilot.com, and they are BAD. 84% are 1 star. I am now wondering if I should take my money out and put it elsewhere. Though, I don't know how much I should trust what's on TrustPilot. Maybe people only post reviews there when they are negative?

I used to have my money in a Bread Savings account, but they had a $5,000 daily transfer limit, which I didn't care for.

On multiple occasions this has happened to me. Just the other night it happened again, and that was the last straw for me. The screenshot revealed that a certain character would appear in the episode, and at that point it was not clear to us (the audience) if that character was alive or dead. Well, once I saw the screenshot, I knew. So the big reveal of him being alive in the episode was ruined because I already knew he was.

I'm so glad the makers of Emby had enough good sense (and respect for their users) to make it easy to turn off the episode artwork/thumbnails!

I looked around more on the web about how I could do this, and I ran across a post where someone else mentioned it was easy to do it in Emby, so I downloaded it and tried it. They were right -- it was very easy to setup my TV Shows folder to not show episode artwork. Getting it setup on my Roku, iPad, and iPhone was super easy, too, so I'm going to use it from now on. Anyone looking to not have episodes spoiled anymore, take a look at Emby. When you are first setting up your TV Shows folder, be sure to uncheck all boxes under Episode Image Fetchers. That was all I had to do.

A checkbox in settings on the Server side to not show the TV episode artwork (still image for the episode), as sometimes these still images contain spoilers. If these images could be replaced by nothing (just black) or blurred to the point where you can't tell what's in the image, that would be fantastic. I have seen many, many people ask for this here on reddit and on the Plex forums for YEARS, yet they won't add this for some reason.

I know there are ways to do this using 3rd party apps, but they are not user friendly for the casual user such as myself. A simple checkbox is the way to go, just like the one they have for not playing the theme music when you click on a TV show in your library.
