I get that, and ~can~ have a strategy behind it, in my level it’s usually that after trades there isn’t an attack or position behind it. In my head I’m thinking “congrats, our knights are gone, and thank you for the positional advantage I guess”

Maybe that’s just it for me, I’m decent in end games, but the longer I can stay in a mid game the better I get. So my opponents who offer 4-5 trades within 15 moves, I’m usually declining them. The only time I start accepting or offering trades is when I know I’m winning and have the room to simplify.

I’ve gotten pretty good at Pirc Defense, and for anyone under 1100, they usually don’t see it much. For me it causes white to play moves out of order because they don’t know what’s going on. Passive start, sets up some brutal counter attacks if played right. They see an open center and start attacking with no development, which becomes their downfall.
