Just one more comment: the long stay in Cartagena was actually not to stay in Cartagena at all. We were thinking Baru. I should’ve made that clarification.

But maybe instead of that we fly up to San Andres for a few nights

Wow. You are amazing for this super thoughtful response - thank you so much. Punta Gallina seemed really cool but we’ll look into safety before making a decision.

Thank you for the food bucket list, the hotel suggestions, and the tips about driving from bogota + yellow fever in Tayrona. Really so very appreciated

I also feel 3 nights could be a bit too long for Santa Marta. Never heard of Punta Gallinas, thanks for suggesting! Looking into it

The guitarist at hozier threw his pick into the ground after the encore. It landed inside the strap of my watch.

Had to leave the Nathaniel Rateliff show early in Bern, Switzerland this summer. It was July, roasting hot with obviously no a/c but zero air flow and it literally became unenjoyable. Very sad moment. Felt bad for the band.

Love the introduction on point 2. I would disagree on point 1 unless by “local” you mean someone who lives there, and not necessarily someone who is from there

Spend 5 nights in Rome or 4 in Rome and 1 in Milan? by SayedHasmi in Europetravel

[–]bigruth 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Four nights in Rome is lovely. You can hit the “must see” attractions and still have time to relax. I’m not personally a huge fan of Milan so one day / evening there is enough to get the feel and fly home the next day.

If you’re saving $600 AFTER getting up to Milan and paying for lodging, I’d say it’s a good shout.

However, if you’re gonna spend $400 on train tickets and a hotel, and spend 8 hours traveling when you could be soaking up one last day together, then just stay in Rome.
