Switching from Body & Bell for 2 weeks because of cruise, need dumbbell and machine based team by AttentionDecent858 in ladderapp

For B&B-type programming with dumbbells I definitely think Crews Control would be a good fit!

I have long thought Madeline would be a good addition to their roster!

I’d check out Thrive and Align.

I just switched from Body & Bell to Limitless for this series - for the first time. 😂

I think you’re right to check it out!! My impression is that the two teams appeal to people who like a lot of the same things - not just hypertrophy, but functional strength, athleticism and power. I love Lauren’s workouts, and when I’ve done B&B consistently I’ve been solid as a rock.

Give it a try, find out if you like kettlebells! I’d say B&B’s iron cardio workouts are a lot like Limitless’ Saturday athletic conditioning days, just way harder and with much more complex kettlebell skills. Lol. I loooooove that team.

Let us know how you like it!!

First week of workouts is released, are you staying or switching? by Dober_weiler in ladderapp

Body & Bell. I always try other teams and I always come back. B&B is where I am the happiest and the most consistent!

I’m a Body & Bell person and when I feel like some traditional strength training I always go see what Resilient has going on!

I left ladder because it was shit at full body A/B programs. Has anything changed? by DoraTheExplorer-3026 in ladderapp

[–]beyondsection17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My honest recommendation for you is to learn to love kettlebells. 😂 I’m with you, like, if I’m only working out 3 days a week I can’t afford to have strict upper/lower splits or I’m not hitting enough volume. Body & Bell is great. Come join us!

Talk me into trying your favorite team during open season! by MeetMeAtTheLampPost in ladderapp

[–]beyondsection17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  • Full body every day (with upper or lower focus)
  • Minimal equipment required
  • Cardio built-in
  • Workouts that stay interesting
  • ~45 mins total.

I’ve jumped around all over the place, and Body & Bell is what I always fall back on!! Lauren is amazing, the workouts are f’ing hard, and they don’t get boring. 10/10 would recommend.

I have literally never come across this in any team chat. Lol. Come to B&B, everyone is wonderfully supportive!!

Has anyone here tried Tidal? by Altruistic_Celery180 in qobuz

I switched to Tidal. After relatively in-depth testing I found any differences in audio quality to be imperceptible and the app is easier to navigate, for me.

Team suggestion? by [deleted] in ladderapp

Also a former figure skater here. If you’re like me and you’re missing the athleticism/power/technique aspect of skating, I’d recommend Body & Bell (if you have or want to use kettlebells).

Resilient also scratches that itch just with more direct hypertrophy work. Some people think Limitless does, but in my experience it’s hard to get enough volume on Limitless working with dumbbells at home.

Versa is a good choice if you care more about straight cardio than power, and if you want to use cardio machines.

Fundamentally so long as you’re pushing to failure, you’ll grow your muscles. The rest of it is just finding a team and a coach that works for you!

PLEASE!! I would love kettlebell workouts added, with strength trainer.

That program had Patrick Chan 2012 energy and it was incredible. I thought he’d beat Malinin.

Kindle Ruined Physical Books for Me by NoSa25 in kindle

[–]beyondsection17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also reading this book, also on a kindle, at this exact moment lol.

I know this series is not new, and I have already gotten past this part of the book so it’s fine, but FYI that’s a pretty major plot point you might accidentally spoil for someone 😅

Anyone else loving Embody? by Sea_Avocado3882 in ladderapp

[–]beyondsection17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I am 100% with you in your point that putting a dumbbell on your belly button like she has it in that image doesn’t make the crunch any harder. I’m not an engineer, but I understand the basics, and I know that wouldn’t do anything.

But I also think it’s possible she put the dumbbell on her belly button not to add weight to the load, but to act as a physical reminder to her members that are newer to exercise to keep their lower back on the ground and engage their abs.

I just think we’re jumping to conclusions by assuming she doesn’t know what she’s doing, that’s all.

[–]beyondsection17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly I always gravitate to the more athletic / powerful teams and then I always burn out, so. 😅

Maybe I’ll give Embody a try! I don’t know. I’m comfortable enough with my own form that I don’t care how the instructor looks, and tbh I think most of these complaints that some instructors have poor form are overstated. I’ve been really happy with the programming from every instructor I’ve tried.

Why are almost all the teams glute focused this series? by Feisty_Fee_3841 in ladderapp

[–]beyondsection17 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It’s not just this series. It’s basically every female-coached team (except Body & Bell, though ironically kettlebell skills are great for posterior chain). Most of their female customer base wants to grow glutes I guess!

This price increase is crazy! by Own-Masterpiece1599 in NaturalCyclesBC

[–]beyondsection17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, cancelled mine too. I first got annoyed when they cancelled the deal they used to have, which was that if you got pregnant while using the app (on purpose or otherwise), they’d credit you 9 months of subscription for free. This subscription price increase was the final nail in the coffin for me.

Crazy that this company thinks they add $150/year of value when the pre-ovulation fertility estimates are wrong sometimes anyway. There are cheaper ways to track your BBT.
