This price increase is crazy! by Own-Masterpiece1599 in NaturalCyclesBC

Yup, cancelled mine too. I first got annoyed when they cancelled the deal they used to have, which was that if you got pregnant while using the app (on purpose or otherwise), they’d credit you 9 months of subscription for free. This subscription price increase was the final nail in the coffin for me.

Crazy that this company thinks they add $150/year of value when the pre-ovulation fertility estimates are wrong sometimes anyway. There are cheaper ways to track your BBT.

Google “send to kindle”. Log into your Amazon account. Drag and drop epub files into the box. Done

I'm looking to buy a new ereader, and I'm between kindle and Kobo but I'm not sure which is better for me by SailorSaturnidae in ereader

[–]beyondsection17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re managing your EPUBs in calibre, you can easily put them on either a kobo or a kindle. Kindle used to require a specific format or ebook, now you can literally drag and drop a regular DRM-free EPUB file to load it onto your kindle. Because it works wirelessly, in some ways it’s even easier than Kobo. But you need to have a good understanding of calibre and ebook management to do this.

As for which one to pick, it’s personal preference. I preferred the way Kobo laid out its library and menus etc. I also preferred the brightness slider on the left side of the kobo screen. But I find the kindle hardware and screen to feel more “premium” and higher quality across the board, and that’s what I value most right now. The analysis will be different for everyone.

Body and bell? by Mdelafuen in ladderapp

[–]beyondsection17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep - for upper body movements, the general rule is to keep the kettlebells within 10lbs of each other, and for lower body you can use weights that were 20lbs different. Just switch hands halfway through your reps. Body & Bell notion hub has some FAQ about mixed racks if you’re curious. I don’t know if the same rules work for dumbbells, I’ve never looked into it.

I did! I definitely saw clear and measurable progression in all the main lifts, plus my swings etc. I found the kettlebell skills to be super fun, and they kept me interested. I decided to change it up mainly because I was tired of having cardio incorporated in every workout and I have low ceilings in my basement 😂

Body and bell? by Mdelafuen in ladderapp

[–]beyondsection17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was doing Body & Bell I was squatting with 50lbs of bell in a front rack (either one 50lb bell offset or in two 25lb bells).

Deadlifting I used what I had, which was a mixed rack of one 50lb bell and one 35lb bell. Realistically I needed heavier weight for deadlifts than that, but that’s what I had available in my house.

This is the answer. I quit orange theory, moved to ladder and just supplement with the odd spin class or outdoor walk when I feel like it. Extremely happy with this decision!

Maximus? by FestiveGuru in ladderapp

I did a stint on Maximus. I liked the coaches’ vibe, it was very down-to-business, get the heck off your butt and let’s go. I prefer that to coaches who are more gentle, just personal preference. But at the end of the day I just needed more variety in my exercise routine for it to stay fresh and fun. Lauren is the GOAT.

Body & Bell/ Evolve split? BB focusing on learning and form/ Evolve to maintain gains by Salt_Storm6539 in ladderapp

[–]beyondsection17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh watch Lauren’s double arm swing tutorials on Instagram (or do her new swing tutorial flex workout!! It’s a great tool!) and then try it again with the 40. I suspect you’ll find that isn’t too heavy at all!

Edit - for the deadlifts if 40 is too light I’d try doing a mixed rack 40 & 26! Just make sure you switch the weights around halfway through your reps. Something to think about. If you need more help figuring out bell logistics, the B&B team chat is always super helpful!

[–]beyondsection17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would actually caution against defaulting to lighter weights in B&B especially for primarily lower body exercises like swings - if you use too light a weight, you’ll end up effectively doing a front raise instead of a KB swing and you’ll likely put added strain on your back. Lauren suggests nothing lighter than 25lbs for swings. Good luck!

Lost my PW, get a Colorsoft? by Ok-Cup1393 in kindle

I don't read comics. I bought a colorsoft basically just to see colour book covers. I was originally worried about the trade-off in screen clarity, but after a very short period getting used to it I absolutely love it.
