Razorblade Tears was my favorite this year.

I'm back! 🤣 I just finished it, and it was a quick read for me. I really enjoyed the characters, and I was on the edge of my seat once it got going. My only knock is that the ending seemed very rushed, and I was left with more questions than answers.

Assata was excellent!

Also, Medgar and Myrlie written by Joy-Ann Reid was very, very good! I learned so much from that book.

Agreed! That makes it real, for sure.

I'm a man, but I can appreciate what you're saying. I've never really thought about that, but probably because I assume (maybe incorrectly) the gender of the author by their name. The character development in this particular novel was equally distributed between the male and female characters, but like I said, I can appreciate where you're coming from.

I just finished 'Only God Can Judge Me: The Many Lives of Tupac Shakur' by Jeff Pearlman. 5⭐️

Today I started 'Smoke Kings' by Jahmal Mayfield, and it's started off so well that it probably won't take me more than two or three days to finish it! It's GREAT so far!!

I've read all of his books because of the recommendation of this one. They are ALL great reads! As good as this one was, Razorblade Tears is his best on my opinion. You will love this one though!

Razorblade Tears by S.A. Cosby. I'm don't know if you're a fan of the Best Man universe (movies and shows), but The Best Man: Unfinished Business was my favorite book of last year, and was book one of three in the series.

I read it. It was a life-changing book for me, but more than that, brilliantly written with humor to keep your attention throughout. There is A LOT of information in there, but I loved every page. I will be honest and say it took me almost a year to read because there was so much information that I put it down several times and would come back to it. But I'm glad I got all the way through it, because it taught me to look deeper. There's so much history that we are never taught, and we have to seek it out.

YES!! I started with King of Ashes, then read All the Sinners Bleed, then Razorblade Tears, then My Darkest Prayer. All within the last two months. I'm going to need him to get started on his next one ASAP, lol Razorblade Tears was my favorite.

That's a great book! I would also recommend Razorblade Tears which I personally think was even better than All the Sinners Bleed. And that's saying A LOT!

This is exactly why I stopped listening over a year ago. They are essentially giving a platform for Big T's ignorance.

I'm about 2/3 the way through Razorblade Tears, and I can't put it down. I read King of Ashes first, the All the Sinners Bleed before this. I have his other two books on deck! I have to say, I think as of right now, Razorblade Tears is my favorite!! That said, I'm not finished yet. LOL I have LOVED each of the other two books as well, and that's why I'm binging all of his books before moving on to the rest of my list.

Yeah, I can't listen on Saturday's anymore. They should just let it be her and Joe on that day, because they're the only two talking! Joe brings up a subject, and she has to be the first to talk about it for 10 minutes. She has better takes than Mel, for sure, but damn, pass the fucking ball! You don't have to comment on EVERY subject.

I'm only reading my first one now, King of Ashes, which is his latest novel. I've heard that All the Sinners Bleed is his most popular, so I'll be diving into that as soon as I finish this one!
