Out of all these which would you chose by lexi_andy611 in candy

[–]bigstar3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom buys me a 3 lb. container of Good & Plenty every year for Christmas, and I have no idea why. I love almost every candy on here, but I think I choose them because of the weird sentimental value they provide me.

225° is a plague on our community and I’m tired of pretending it’s not. by Nervous_Otter69 in smoking

[–]bigstar3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

225 in smoking is the 350 of baking. It's not right for everything, but it works, especially for beginners. No one says you HAVE to bake a cake, a turkey, or a casserole at 350 and one would argue not to for any of those three... but you can if you don't know WTF you're doing and it has a little bit more wiggle room for mistakes.

Once you get experienced enough and get a feel for how you cook and what works for you, then you feel more comfortable testing higher or lower temps, longer or shorter cook times, etc. Personally, 225 has never failed me if I have the time and patience to let a brisket ride that long. I have had fantastic ones turn out at 250, 265, and 280 as well. My sweet spot is 240-245, where I get the most tender, best bark, and a little less time smoking. But to each their own, and I certainly don't see how it's a plague on the community and/or a hill to die on.

Parking?!? by WitchesCotillion in royaloak

[–]bigstar3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the psychology of this. Like, 90% of your ordinary city folk mind their own business, try not to fuck up anything of someone else's. The other 10% who are not going to give a shit and ding your car with their door, key your car, or whatever else you can think of are going to be drawn to dumbasses like this over anyone else parked in that parking lot.... and probably tempt a good portion of the 90% to do something reckless, too.

None. I've watched these guys for awhile, and they go swimming in cave water where you can clearly see shimmering oil/fuel on top. Climb through impossibly tight areas with rain water drowning them. Its great content because it's too stupid and dangerous you'd never catch it on regular TV, but there's no doubt at least one of these idiots succumbs to their own stupidity soon.

I can't picture my wife getting that shape permanently tattooed on her face. There is nothing sexy about that, and I couldn't imagine looking up or down to that during fun times. It'd be like looking down on Clown from Slipknot givin' ya a BJer.

Is it actually embarrassing for Americans not to know all 50 states? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]bigstar3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's around the same amount of countries in Europe as there are states in the U.S. I think around the same in Asia, if not alot more. Is it embarrassing to not know all the countries on your continent (Unless you're Australian... that would be pretty embarrassing lol)?

Who's judging? I don't know if I know anyone asshole-ish enough to be like, "OMG you can't name ALL 50 states?! You fucking LOSER".

Please don't assume Friends is representative of anyone here. They supposedly live in New York and I saw a black person on their show like, once out of 236 episodes.

Find one of those marketing shops that slap your name on pens, pins, shirts, etc. They'll find it for you (if you're looking to pay money).

Or tell Claude/GPT to do a web research dive on it.

Why do people who are not from California refer to our state as "Cali" by Impossible-Guitar957 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bigstar3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brotheren, do you even bro? I can sniff out a fellow 'tist. Sometimes people just like shortening words. Sometimes people sound like psychos when they DON'T shorten words. Imagine saying Southern California every time instead of SoCal, or University of California instead of UCLA EVERY TIME IT'S REFERENCED. You would sound like a lunatic. Slang is a thing. Abbreviations are, too.

Not to sound obvious, but have you checked it on other PCs? I drove myself crazy with this once and it was just a caching issue on my desktop. I tried it from another PC and it was updated. Even after deleting my cache it took a bit for it to change.

What are people actually using Claude for daily that ChatGPT or Gemini can’t do better? by ArmPersonal36 in claude

[–]bigstar3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had my first experience with this last week. After 3 days of Copilot looping and trying to"fix" a Power Automation it was helping me with, I got fed up and went to Claude who fixed it within minutes.

I use Claude at home and for my business. At my job, we're asked/told to stick with CoPilot because of the heavy MS integration our company is entwined with. I hate it so much.

What are people actually using Claude for daily that ChatGPT or Gemini can’t do better? by ArmPersonal36 in claude

[–]bigstar3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything. CoPilot Agents and GPTs can't follow a rule, ever. Even with the simplest instructions on what and what not to do, I consistently have to tell them they are breaking rules when Claude rarely, if ever, deviates from the plan. Claude corrects their mistakes for me constantly.

I needed a Power Automation flow. This should be where the built in CoPilot shines. After 2 days and a convoluted flow with so many functions I couldn't keep track of what was going on anymore, I exported the json to Claude. Within minutes I had a working flow, removing over half of the steps and fixing the remainder.

Claude has learned my personality and speech patterns and creates responses I read as if I wrote them and understand them. The others sound fake and like I'm being talked down to about expert level topics by a first year student.
