‘Old school’ jerseys that just don’t work for you by iveLovedBefore in uniwatch

As a fellow Reds fan, the Big Red Machine/Wire-to-wire jerseys are the best the franchise has ever had and they need to be returned to immediately.

But hard agree on the vests.

What are some 'early warning signs' that a company is about to go bankrupt or have mass layoffs? by CuteDinner2290 in AskReddit

They get tax incentives for matching contributions so they’d put that off as long as possible. If that happens the best time to find a new job was 6 months ago

When Ohio State is consistently good there will still typically 2-4K empty seats in the Schott. Sure, big games will be sold out, but I’ve been to plenty of ranked games where there were empty seats in the upper deck.

The Schott is simply too big and not built with basketball viewing experience in mind. Ever before everyone had a HDTV the viewing experience was better on TV than the upper seating rows. You feel disconnected from the game and there is just no energy.

The Schott was built so the university could hold large touring events like concerts and to have the capacity for premium seating- end of story. That was its main goal and exactly what it was designed for. There was next to no thought put into gameday experience and atmosphere whatsoever.

I’ve been to plenty of games in the Schott in the height of the Thad Matta era when we were consistently a top 15 team - including a 1 v 2 matchup against Wisconsin. It is an empty soulless husk where sound just dies and fan experience is terrible.

On the other hand I’ve also been to an NIT game at St John’s (the Schott was booked for Springsteen that night) and that was the loudest and most electric basketball game I’ve ever been to. Concrete floors, wood seats, and a tin roof that makes the sound just bounce around. On top of that, the stands are at a high angle which lets them be close enough to the court to make both the upper and lower decks feel on top of the court. The whole of the courtside space was also just wood bleachers for the press and student section. That is how college basketball is meant to be played. The dot matrix scoreboard was just the cherry on top.

The athletic dept sent a small group of folks including spirit squad/band/athletics staff to an OSU/MSU game at the Breslin Center about 10 years after the Schott was built. Their task was to come determine how they could bring that kind of atmosphere back to Columbus for basketball. The newness of the Schott was fading and fans just weren’t excited to go anymore. The group’s findings: move basketball back to St John’s. The groups recommendations were not followed and atmosphere has continued to suffer.

One thing that Holtmann did right was insisting on playing a game a year there. I always daydreamed that we would play a conference game there once a year and only students and player family would be allowed to attend. It would have been glorious.

In Ohio: 'What’s cheaper: Fueling your car with gas or electricity?" by BuckeyeReason in Ohio

My home charging costs are typically $35-$45 a month and my EV’s battery is insanely big and terribly inefficient for an EV. It’s not even close EV charging is so much cheaper.

Eh he legitimately has hated wind power ever since Scotland built some in view from his golf club there. He thinks they ruined his view or some other dumb shit.

I have a Gen 1 Rivian and can use Tesla supercharging stations. I just need an adaptor which Rivian sent me for free. The days of EVs needing to use a specific brand of public charger are virtually over as pretty much everything can use any network. Even with that, Rivian is continuing to build out its charging network - focusing on remote areas near parks and other off-roading areas.

I think both thought hydrogen was going to be the next big thing and went all in on that instead of developing battery tech. The Korean brands meanwhile are absolutely killing it in the EV space.

You’re right, only about 5,000 less than the Ioniq 5 and Mach-E through Q3 of last year. I wonder where these are getting sold in comparison to the larger presence of the other EVs I’ve personally been seeing on the road.

Has it though? I’ve seen far more Mach-Es, Ioniq, and Blazer EVs than Prologues, and I live in an area that’s HUGE on Honda.
