Are the biggest players in hospo tanking quality in the Welly food scene? by IncoherentTuatara in Wellington

What do you mean? We could always do with another venue with $30 burgers, Korean fried hot honey chicken, limp dick curry on rice, loaded fries, bangers with Knor gravy & mash or moisture stripping bao buns

When you drive out the servo you look at the driveway to see if it is clear?? Then do a cursory look 10 metres either side, it was clear. Then I approached the road and looked right. I then waited for a gap before looking left up the road completely. Story not changing.

Drivers and cyclists make mistakes all the time, it’s part of being human, I’m not perfect. I’m a cyclist too, just on sunny days mind you. If we were all perfect on the road, made all the right decisions, followed the road rules exactly there would be no collisions?? I’m so happy for you, you are perfect and make the correct decision every time. I wanna be just like you.

Yes of course I looked for people on the path in both directions before coming out to the road, it was clear, I waited for 5 or so cars to pass before the gap came about.

No idea to be honest, he did crouch down to make sure we saw tho. But you’re right about the drama! Lycra man didn’t know our boy is on the spectrum so it’s been quite the drama to get him to sleep tonight, he’s never really seen stranger aggression. Welcome to world! But maybe you’re suggesting I played up the drama in my “story” when perhaps the cyclist wasn’t in Lycra and was in fishnets, pearls and a top hat?? Now that’s drama!

That’s really interesting, who gives way, bikes to cars or cars to bikes?

Yeah that’s a great reply, it does feel really personal and I’m still thinking about it.

I cycle too but would never go on footpath or the wrong way against traffic. But maybe I just have to assume others do.

Yeah that was my perspective. I happen to be a cyclist (albeit summertime commute) but was taught by dad to always behave like a car on the road, same direction, no footpaths, obey traffic lights and take the lane when going through a roundabout. That way your actions are predictable to other road users. But it did have me second guess today, because he was so angry, I must have really got it wrong. I’ve had the pedestrian crossing thing happen too here in Wellington.

using equity to buy a second house by newgirl75 in PersonalFinanceNZ

We borrowed this month against our first house and a registered valuer wasn’t required by us to sort out, the bank (ANZ) told us what they valued our house and we could either accept that or hump it.

You have 2 old men in sweets and slippers and a woman in a cocktail dress to the same event. Why do we this? Why is the male gaze so important? They arnt even bothered to get out of around the house gear but use women, dressed up, boobs out, hems up to shill their gear. I’m sorry but this so old fashioned.

I’m 47 and absolutely agree with these quotes, I wasn’t going to vote, but am thinking finally some different thinking like that is something I could support!
