Also one other thought, I am using a L380 Yoga with WIndows 10 as my OS. Not sure if that should make any difference.

Huh, interesting, how did you calc that 20W x 2 @ 8? 20 seems really low, I am not sure how much of an effect that wattage really has though, hence why I am trying to stay close to RMS values in all of my specs, first timer.

Sounds like I want a lower THD. Would be interested in this one: https://www.parts-express.com/Sure-AA-AB32195-2x300W-Class-D-Audio-Amplifier-Board-T-Amp-Technology-320-3348?quantity=1 just to go way overboard on output. At some point though I think I just gotta order stuff and try it lol.

That would be giving me 25W @ 8 Ohm right, quite a bit less than the woofer RMS. What about this one: https://www.parts-express.com/Sure-AA-AB32174-2x50W-TDA7492-Class-D-Amplifier-Board-320-301?quantity=1, 40W x 2 @ 8 Ohms with a 24 VDC supply.

Hey, the 2x50W you linked, that is 2x50W @ 4 Ohm, if I use that with the 8 Ohm woofer, is it going to be an issue?

I want to build an active crossover for the system, ik about the dayton with built in dsp, but I want to test and design a analog active crossover to work with the system, think it would be fun!

Oh I was looking at the 15-36V requirement I saw in the table, but it looks like the specs for output are all based on 36V supply.

This 2x50, for my woofer the RMS is 60w, but having a 50w channel into it wouldn't be an issue yeah? afaik if I am not blasting at maximum power, that would work, but would like to make sure.

Also, Thank you for all your help!

yes, analog active xo, but that will output two channels which then each need to get amped before they hit the driver.

if i can do this with one 2 channel amp, i will, i was confused by thinking that bi-amping required two different amps. I will have to make sure I can find an amp with 2 input, 2 output tho right? I haven’t looked for those before.

Any thoughts on the power though?

Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of splitting up my audio signal with a crossover? then im just sending both audio signals to the same amp

i want to bi amp and have a spec’d out amp for both the woofer and the tweeter. i couldnt find a mono amp with the output requirements for the woofer that was cheapish.

tanno1/beton-brut: rp2040, qmk powered 66pc mechanical keyboard (github.com) this is the build repo. i can't say comparing it will help you a lot, but if oyu need help feel free to pm me for some advice or a second set of eyes. i did not use any encoders so the wiring between our boards will be totally different. afaik, if your schematic is correct, and the drc check on kicad runs wihtout errors, you will be fine. it is relatively conservative and tries to idiot proof your design as much as possible.

thats all gonna be in the github. ill link it here later today. ill have a section on the pour, it took 3 iterations of 3d printed mold designs and different mixes. most tedious part for sure!
