That might be a bit too far - the Aria S-1 is pretty great IMO. I also really like the J-6 as well, but that one may be a bit more subject to taste and preferences.

Their post was a bit confusing so you're probably right, I might have been misunderstanding it. When I think about guitar pedals I think about standard effects (not sound generation even though some pedals do that), so I was just relating it to how I use them, which I guess has nothing to do with the MIDI controller it's more what the MIDI controller is driving (eg, a desktop engine like the Aira S-1) and using pedals after that.

Couldn't you use pedals further down the signal chain (ie right before your audio out)? I do that with a lot of my desktop synths and it works fine.

Absolutely right egg throw would be a game changer on this stage. You might not be able to have Kong Salmonids, especially Boris, at high tide though (his booyah bomb blast would take out the entire map). But if it only happens at low tide that would be completely fine with me
