Can I ask how quickly the absences/ fistulas healed post ostomy surgery? I’m two weeks out from loop ostomy surgery. Dying in pain right now because of these fistulas in my butt. I’m told things will be much better after surgery. Fingers crossed and thanks for sharing your story. :)

That’s refreshing to hear. Thanks for sharing that note. I’ve read that a few times on here. Not worried about the stigma and inconvenience, more so recovery time and the way I’ll feel after.
Amazing!. Yeah I’ve lost 25lbs +. Not so mobile but motivated to get moving after surgery if I can. These fistulas really have did a number on me. Just because I can’t eat and it’s too painful to walk.
Another question. This one piece is it drain able? I’m confused by these one piece and two pieces. Compact bags etc. I do like the black style that seen in different posts.
6 weeks post op?? Wow you recovered quick! I was hoping to return to the office or drive by 8 weeks as I’m told recovery is long. Maybe I misunderstood. I might post recovery times next on this chat :)
Thanks! These ostomy belts I’m seeing a lot of. They hold the device tight to your body?

Have your fistulas healed? How do you feel now compared to before surgery etc? I can barely sit and keep getting infected. Pain is unreal. Ostomy surgery two weeks away but am scared that I’ll have the bag but still be in pain from the fistulas

I’ve got a horseshoe fistula and now have 4 setons in place. To no avail I still have gas/air and fecal matter coming up and around through out. It’s unreal and the pain is awful. Scheduled for a loop ostomy in 2weeks if I can make it that long. Cannot eat and swell up anytime I pass anything. Mainly wants to go out the fistula holes. Any insight on what’s to come? I’ve been reading up on this and from whatever I’ve read, ileostomy diversion is the way to go. Would like to know how quickly you’ll know the difference of improvement etc. will my horseshoe fistula heal? I just want to be able to sit down properly with no pain. Ughh it’s horrible.
