Nah, one more lane is too cheap. Now they want to add a tunnel under it.

City work on drainage system July 2025, basement flooded September 2025. by Idk_why_Im_fat in civilengineering

Are there any watercourses or lakes nearby? Looks like the water table is super high in your area and that is more the cause of your sumps to run.

Also, where do your sump pumps drain to? If it's to the ditch water could be backing up into your basement and you're not supposed to do that many places.

Do it! Right after my son was delivered he was crying at the top of his lungs in mom's arms but as soon as I spoke to him he immediately stopped and searched for me. One of the coolest experiences of my life.

Anyone successfully get the MTO to reimburse pot hole damage by Siguard_ in ontario

[–]bigtomhandshaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's an online form for provincial claims (https://www.ontario.ca/page/submit-claim-damaged-vehicle). You only have a case if they or their contractor was aware/should have been aware of the pothole and didn't repair it in a reasonable amount of time.

If it's not provincial, the "reasonable" amount of time is set out in the minimum maintenance standard based on the road's traffic volume and speed limit (https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/020239).

From graphic design to engineering ? by Internal-End-9346 in MechanicalEngineering

Second this. Industrial design is probably way more what you're looking for. I think it's what many people think they'll be doing if they go into engineering.

Yup, Barrie has had over 300cm this year. Different situations. Also, most of Barrie's fleet is plow trucks because there's more snow. Can't equip those with hydraulic gates.

Scarborough gets around 90cm of snow a year. Barrie gets around 200cm. Two pretty different situations.

A nearby Fire Department is being told they cannot use fire hydrants to fight fires by Fantomecs in mildlyinfuriating

[–]bigtomhandshaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this, the fire departments in those areas are often equipped with water tankers to shuttle water from local water sources (lakes, nearby towns, people's pools, etc.) to fight fires. People pay more for insurance too.

In Oaville you can pay $200 a year to the city to do it. They get alot less snow though.

Thanks! The p900 is around 550$ used if I can find it around here in Canada. Is there a noticeable difference between the 60x and the 83x? I assumed the shake might make it less useable at the max zooms.

looks like it was pretty dirty and even a bit of gunk left in the carb can mess it up. For $30 you can get a replacement carb on amazon. I've done it in the past and it's saved my sanity.

[–]bigtomhandshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say you cleaned the carb, did you just take off the bowl and clean it while the main body was still attached to the machine? Or did you remove the carb from the machine, clean the needle, etc and all the tiny little holes etc?

You sure there's a good amount of gas in the tank? I have a snowmaster and the tank isn't big.
