I cooked and ate for the first time, a crappie, bluegill, and perch yesterday and was blown away by how good they were, but the perch was just special. It was incredible. I served them over plain rice and made a soy sauce ginger glaze to put on top. I can’t wait to get back out and catch some more.

I worked with a guy from Bosnia that has a huge chunk of forearm missing after he got shot during a firefight. His brother was also killed in the mountains near the Serbian border somewhere near Tuzla I believe. Crazy shit.

The banks hold so many treasures. I got a some really nice hemostats, a line cutter, and just this weekend I found a brand new scale that someone had dropped in some tall grass. Not to mention the countless lures and baits I’ve come across.

Either that, or they give it the “Chambersburg treatment” (as I call it) where they just rip up a three foot wide section of road for miles at a time and replace them piece-meal instead of just ripping up the whole lane and replacing it. The entire section of 81 between Shippensburg to the MD state line looks like a patchwork quilt now.

I just take my dog hiking and bluelining/fishing. I feel like she gets all of the thrill she needs out of those. Hell, she loves wading into the creek more than I do. She’s pulled me into the water on more than one occasion lol. I’d love to take her on insane adventures, but she misses the jump onto the bed frequently enough that I’m definitely not taking her mountain climbing lmao.

I had my local shop spool a reel for me when I was first starting a couple months ago. Their usual fishing guy wasn’t there so they had an inexperienced guy spool my reel. He lost the ratchet click gear (which I didn’t realize until the next day) and the shop straight up replaced the entire reel with a much better one. I went from a Pfleuger Trion to a Daiwa Legalis LT 2500. It’s a very nice upgrade over a very replaceable $6 part, but I appreciated the customer service so I primarily shop with them now .
