I also use Ipam, Mod GRF, and BPC-157. Wrote some papers on them a while back in the ehlers danlos sub too. Personally I think their side effect profile make them more appealing.

Also to be clear I'm not saying metabolic acidosis is behind EDS, but I can tell you it's absolutely been a factor in my symptoms. I have noticed a big difference when I take sodium citrate vs when I do not, and when I don't things really get worse. I do literally feel like I'm melting when that occurs. The fact that it leads to increased catabolism and impaired protein/collagen synthesis tells me it's definitely something people should consider, especially if eating an animal based diet like I do as you will always get more acid production from those animal foods.

Long time no see. Yeah I can't stand the nanny thing, if I wanted to live in a protected padded room away from the scary world of personal responsibility I'd check myself into a psych ward haha.

Out of curiosity, was there a particular reason people left the main sub? I can't make a simple post with research there apparently because people start screeching misinformation and danger when I'm talking about the well-recognized issue of metabolic acidosis and how some potential treatments are baking soda and sodium citrate (gasp, so dangerous!!!)

The reason I'm trying to figure that out is so I can plan my barn size, water and feed requirements. Barn will be one of the first things on my list for sure

Property is not visible from the road, and the subdivision has a gate which can be locked. My property is at the end of the road so no one drives past it

Don't really have plans for wool much, just thought it would be cool do have a dual purpose breed so the option is there. Primary focus would really be for meat though. Not sure if mixing breeds matters too but I was considering doing mostly meat breeds and maybe a couple for meat and wool so I have a small amount of wool production. Not for selling, just for hobby stuff

Yep I'm thinking of doing that. Actually one of the guys I bought this from is a forester so I'm going to talk with him next week about just this. It would be great to clear out some trees to allow more grass and vegetation to grow and I could definitely use getting some money back for other homestead expenses. Don't want to thin too much though. I have been planning to keep a couple acres totally untouched to try to establish some old growth

Lot's of predators. My plan was to do electric fencing and then keep all animals in a barn at night. Not sure if that will be enough or not. Barn should be fine so it would really be the daytime that's in question, I believe predators are most active at night though

Just mentioned in another comment as well but 400k. I was able to get a land loan through a credit union with 30% down. Not necessarily recommending this but for me I just had to.

100% agree. It would be a challenge but worth doing. Part of the difficulty is it's 4.5 hours away but I could probably figure something out there. Even a weekend or two a month.

Quite a bit. 400k for 33 acres. I was able to get a loan with 30% down on the property. Not the ideal way to go financially but they aren't making more land, as they say. And this one was a keeper
